So, I received this generous hamper by Mother Sparsh a while back and have been using these products ever since. Here's my experience with the product so far:

ULTRARICH FACE WASH

Thick gel like consistency

Cleanses dirt and grime really well

Doesn't dry out my skin at all

It's smell reminds me of it's spice laden ayurvedic ingredient list

Has a cooling effect

Love it

ULTRA RICH FACE CREAM

Rich and thick texture

Spreads easily

Gets absorbed after a little massage

Has a woody fragrance of its ingredients like tejpatra, jaitun, dalchini etc.

Brightens up the skin

Keeps the skin hydrated

UNDER EYE GEL

Fine nozzle helps in accurate application

PALMER'S Skin Success Anti-Dark Spot Fade Cream : Review !

Hey My Lovelies!!

Hope the nip in the air is treating you pretty. It's not WINTER winter here in Bangalore per se but we are surely enjoying our blankets and coffees more lately.

I'm up with a quick review of the PALMER'S SKIN SUCCESS FADE CREAM.

I landed upon this product while searching for depigmentation creams that really work on lightening the marks and scars. And here is how I liked it....

Price/Quantity: INR 550/75gm

My Take:

Palmer's Skin Success Fade Cream comes in a heavy glass jar. Now, I'd choose glass over plastic any given day but it definitely makes it tough to carry along while travelling.
Dipping fingers in the tub is no one's hobby so that's a con and I use Q-tips to extract the product out.
The cream itself is quite thick in consistency due to which it is difficult to blend it. It gets absorbed even before one massages it.
In the first few seconds or maybe minutes of application, it gives a tingling/itchy sensation which I'm guessing it's because of the presence of retinol.
It says it can be worn under makeup.
It contains Sunscreen (though there is no mention of SPF)
The smell though not over-powering, isn't pleasant either.
I prefer moisturizers that glide on my skin and make it smooth but this though gets absorbed, it leaves a weird 'sitting on your skin' kinda feel. But again, this is for spot treatment and I'm still wondering how is the internet flooded with reviews of it as an overall face moisturizer with depigmentation qualities.
It is best to use it at night because if you sweat wearing this on, it will form a white film on the skin surface that doesn't look best.
It is available on Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa etc.
I've tried applying it on my spots for a month to see the progress and I can say that it did not miraculously make the spots vanish. They have faded very slightly, maybe the difference is slight enough to get noticed by me only. Having said that I'm hopeful it'll give better results if given more time.

Yami Organic Homemade Herbal Face Pack

Good skin is a priority! Since our skin plays such an important role in protecting our body, we should keep it as healthy as we can. Fresh and vibrant skin signifies that you take good care of your health internally and externally.
Aestheticians and beauticians world world believe that face masks don't just offer results that improve the overall appearance of the skin, they can also be quite therapeutic.This led me try out the very homemade Yami Herbal Face Pack.

It comes in powder form in a plastic bag housed in a huge tub.

The ingredient list of the product is pretty impressive comprising of almonds,pistachios,orange peel potato starch and the likes. All these ingredients are not new to us in terms of skin care.

I like the fact that unlike its other homemade counterparts, it needs to be applied only for 10 minutes. I have generally used herbal face packs that mentioned a wear-time of 15-20 minutes.
It says it is suitable for all skin-types but I would recommend preparing it in milk if you have dry skin whereas people who have oily skin can mix the powder in curd to form a paste.

Unlike the ready to apply face packs in the market, this one has to be prepared and that makes it a little less convenient and less travel friendly.
Like most natural organic products, it doesn't smell pleasant. Moreover, the smell doesn't go even after washing it off. I would suggest using a nice smelling moisturizer after this to not get perturbed.

Since I have dry skin, I mixed the powder with some milk to form a paste and applied it on my face and neck for 10 minutes (although I clicked the picture after just applying on my face only). Then I scrubbed it off and washed my face with lukewarm water.
It made the face really clear and bright and scrubbing it off worked as exfoliation. The skin was soft and supple. I followed it up with a moisturizer (had to ward off the smell)!
If you follow me on instagram,I posted a picture of this face pack quite a while ago. But since skin care products take a lot of time to show up ( more so if they are organic/ayurvedic) the post is coming up now after few uses of it.
If you are ready to deal with the mess of making an all herbal paste for a clearer,brighter skin..dive in!

Let The Kids Have Fun in Water This Summer!! Kids Time Bubble Bath Review!

Its summer friends...

and summer bring vacation along with them..
Oh No No!! I don't mean vacation to exotic location with us ladies going bonkers over shopping!!

I'm pointing towards the summer holidays that kids spend athome!
My son is seven and daughter isn't even a pre-schooler and my house looks like tsunami-hit these days :P

Out of all the activities through which I try to keep them occupied,the one they love is their bathing time...because it is a prolonnnnnnged one these days!!

The soaps and shower gels have given their way to the Kids Time Bubble Bath in the Mango Tango variant. Its manufactured in US and you can spot these in dollar stores across the country.They come in different variants and this one smells yummy (mango variants are so summer suited)

This is super cheap,you get 828ml for just 250/-

It is paraben-free (though it does have sodium laureth sulphate,but all that bubbling is pretty unimaginable without the SLS content)

It smells amazing and can be used as a top-to-toe wash (yup hair too) and yup it bubbles well!!

Secret Tip: I used it to wash my makeup brushes and they turn out to be squeaky clean and super soft :) :) :)

Lotus Safe Sun Sunscreen Gel SPF 20: Review and Price

Seeing sun and hiding away is something we are accustomed to pretty well.. I remember a sunscreen advertisement of a particular brand that showed the girl avoiding sun and walking in shade in a weird and funny way...and I could relate so much with her!!

I'm not new Lotus sunscreens but this Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Sunscreen Gel SPF 20 is new for me.

Price/Quantity: INR 245/100gm

Now!! I have a love-hate relationship with this product!!

Love it...for its pump dispenser packaging!

Hate it...because SPF 20 doesn't seem enough!

Love it...as it is non-greasy,doesn't make skin oily/shiny!

Hate it...its herbal yet loaded with chemicals (read parabens too)!

Love it...for it keeps me sweat-free!
Hate it...for it says nothing about UVA/UVB rays!

Love it...because it being gel it gives a smoother,primed base for makeup application!

Hate it...no mention of PA+++

Despite all the hating,I still like the product on days of minimal sun exposure because of its packaging,smell and the finish that it gives!

Over All Raing: 3.5/5

*P.S. SPF indicates the level of protection against UVB rays while PA+++ indicates the level of protection against UVA rays.

Lotus Herbals Tea Tree face Pack- INR 295/120g

Home Alone....a mason jar full of Mint Mojito...Music of my kind..Dimly lit house... THIS is vacation for me!! Add to that a warm foot soak and a pack on my face..THIS gets EXXXOTIC!!!

And this brings me to the product of the day---->Lotus Herbals Tea Tree Clear Face Pack

A few pictures to get to know the product below:

I've been using Lotus sunscreen/sunblock for as long as I can look back and a few of their other products have gone well with me but a face pack from them was fairly new to my experience.

The packaging is simple and practical.

Texture wise,it is smooth and the consistency is thick. I personally like thick layer of masks/packs, so I use it just that way. If you like spreading thinner layer you could add a bit of water,make it a tad bit thinner and apply. Any which way it will last you for a long time.

It gives a cooling and tingling sensation in the first few seconds of application.

Now the worst part... It smells awful!

Like I had a real tough time to compare the smell to something known to explain to you guys and the closest I could get was Phenoyl!

I know eeeeekkks..but that's how it smells :/

It does clarify the skin and since I'm having good skin days (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....Touch Wood!) I can't really say how it fares on pimples and acne blemishes.

Its HERBAL and it has PARABENS..get the pun..?????

Everyone wants to retain a youthful skin for as long as humanly possible. Using a night cream should be an integral part of everyone's skin care regimen for that youthful skin, but it is often overlooked. During sleep,our bodies are healing, re-energizing and renewing and our skin is no different.At night,our skin shifts into a restorative mode,working to undo some of the damage done during the day.

Shifting focus to the product of the day- Himalaya Herbals Revitalizing Night Cream. I was sent a few new launches by Himalaya Herbals in the skin care department and this was one of them.

I got this a while back and was busy testing.The pics were clicked as soon as the package was received..I'm happily hitting bottom now.
Price/Quantity: INR 200/50gm

My Take:

Hey..like I said in my previous post..I'll be doing less detailed reviews given the fact that my daughter hates me to sit with any gizmo...One Demanding Gal She Is....so,to cut the story short..read on my Views:

Till now all the night cream I've used comes in jar packaging (I haven't used a bucket full though..still) and I often wonder how about a night cream in a sweety,squeezy tube? You are in control of the quantity,its unbreakable and it screams take me along when you are travelling!!! But...but...but...jar packaging again and that too glass jar!!

The texture is smooth. It spreads on skin like a dream and gets absorbed nice and quick. It smells really refreshing..like my son notices everytime I have this on! So gals..MEN LIKE IT ;)

It boasts of white lily and tomato but it does have a few chemicals (I couldn't find parabens though)

It is highly suited for oily/combi skin. Though it is hydrating,its not greasy at all.

It gives me a soft,supple,plumped up skin in the morning.

Easy to spread,quick absorption,nice smell,hydrated skin...I don't ask for more!
Probably one of the best in this price bracket!

Ingredients:

The face wash comes in a regular squeezy flip top tube. Its all happy and vibrant looking,thanks to the lemon extracts in it..they coordinated it with the packaging and made it all yellow and fresh. Its practical and travel friendly.
I have used it for 7 days and I conclude that it has a creamy consistency and makes the face squeaky clean. Although I have a dry skin,still I didn't feel stretchy post the usage. But I wonder if I would be able to use it in summers given the fact that its not mild either...lemonnnss...remember..?? It takes off the makeup well too. But you would need a substantial amount of it unlike its truckloads of counterparts available in the market that do the job in just a pea-size blob. The smell is citrusy and fresh,not over powering for sure!!...moral of the story..good for oily skinned people and would finish faster!

White Complete Multi Action Fairness Cream: Review

Price vs Quantity: INR 160/40gm
Ingredients:

This comes in a tub packaging,a con for many. Although it is a cute, plastic tub that looks like glass but dipping the fingers in and out has never been a good idea hygiene wise.
The first day of application..and I went into nostalgia. It reminded me of the the good old household fair n lovely for its white cast. But wait...I applied a bit too much.. I actually wanted Garnier to win the challenge ;) :P
They have provided a shade card in the packaging to help you notice a change since they claim to provide 3 tones lighter skin in just 7 days.

The cream is white in colour,smooth in texture and has a fresh/citrus smell to it. It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves a matte finish...love! It kept my face sweat free and bright for quite a lonnnnng time...and guys it did brighten my face in seven days flat. To be precise I was a number 8 then and a number 6 now. It has SPF19 PA+++,a BIG pro for sure. All in all lovely product to be swapped for a perfect day cream in the given price range.

Crux of Matter:
Garnier White Complete Fairness Facewash is an average cleanser that does its job well.
Garnier White Complete Multi Action Fairness Cream is a sure shot winner. It brightened my skin tone,kept my face sweat free n fresh and decently priced.
Even if does not fulfill the claims of 3 tone lighter skin it still works fine as a day cream.
If only they had a smaller itinerary of ingredients :P
