BBlunt Salon Secret High Shine Creme Hair Colour Review!!

30.12.16 8 Comments

I've been experimenting with hair colours for the longest time now and have tried everything from caramel to honey and burgundy to mahogany. So when I was sent this new kid on the block I got really excited to try specially because it said ammonia free. I have been using L'Oreal for the past few years and let me admit it does no wonders to my hair that others didn't do. Thus finding out about a new range of hair colour at the fraction of its price was
 pleasantly surprising!!!!

Brand Claims:

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Price/Quantity:

 My Experience:
Having tried so many brands and shades I finally stopped at dark brown and although my natural hair colour is light brown, the dark brown seems to have taken over my natural shade a bit too well. So much so that now when I apply even a lighter shade it doesn't show up well. So my choices of the hair colour shade were dominated by this fact. I didn't want to go all dark brown which would make no difference and neither did I felt like going for lighter ones as they just wouldn't show up. Owing to this dilemma,I ended up choosing the shade Deep Burgundy.
The packaging was very chic and convenient given the price bracket it falls in. It includes the colourant, developer and shine tonic. They also provided a pair of gloves which was cherry on the cake.
I mixed up the contents as per the instructions and applied it. I wanted a global wash off colour thus till more than half of the content. I applied it evenly from root to tip and waited for 30min. And washed it off and applied my conditioner.
The difference in the light is doing a bit of injustice to the image. I wanted to click the before and after picture at the same spot in daylight but the timing made the after one a bit more bright!I really loved the fact that it didn't dry my already dry hair, infact the shine tonic actually made them smooth and shiny. The red tinge is visible only in the sun though but that's nothing to do with the product. It covered grey perfectly well and stood better and longer than its costlier counterparts in the market.
I'm really happy with the result and would recommend it!!

L'OREAL PROFESSIONAL Serie Expert Absolut Repair Lipidium : Review, Price

2.6.16 5 Comments

Hair Woes...most of us have!!
And few are blessed with naturally healthy and beautiful hair and concentrate on other worldly affairs ;) :P
I personally have very dull, dry, frizzy and lifeless hair thus rich nourishing serums are oxygen to my mane.
I have tired a few serums and potions earlier so this review would be a comparative one.

Price: 600/50ML

Given my hair texture and condition,I'm usually on a lookout for rich serums to make my hair manageable and boost some life to them and this search brought me here to use L'OREAL PROFESSIONAL Absolut Repair Lipidium.

There's nothing fancy about the packaging..a pump dispenser with a cap. Now I like the twist-lock pump dispensers..minus the cap..MORE. They just make more sense to me because, you don't need to worry about loosing the cap just twist the cap n throw it in your bag...but alas! That's not the case here!

The consistency is nice, its runny enough to spread easily and uniformly in to the hair yet not watery. I need 3 pumps of this on my medium length hair and concentrate more towards ends and work my way up.

Th smell is fresh, floral musky kinds and it is really long staying.I like how amazing my hair smell after I've applied this :)
Now coming to what it does!!! It detangles my dry hair really easily but this is something all my other serums have done :/
The serum definitely makes my hair, soft, smooth and brings a healthy shine to them which stays until the next wash.
It manages the frizz and leaving the mane open is a lot more comfortable with L'OREAL PROFESSIONAL Absolut Repair Lipidium.
But do not expect any miraculous repair of your dry/damaged/chemically treated hair with this.
It gives temporary results that are somewhat similar to other serums of the similar price range.

**Do let me know in the comments below if you have used the shampoo and mask from this range,I'm wanting to try !!

BBlunt Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream: Review and Price

3.3.16 4 Comments
There are people with naturally healthy, luscious long, manageable hair and then there's me..
Like the rest of my body,my hair is dry too..(and that brings to my mind ...Do people with oily skin have oily scalp and hair as well?)
Anyway...

So having hair like that (read dry-damaged and curly) its blissful to try new hair products. Read on to know the experience with BBlunt Climate Control Anti-frizz Leave-in Cream.

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-In Cream:
Phewww..thats some product name!
Now that I have dry hair..conditioners,hair masks and serums are my best friends. I was happy to try out the anti-frizz leave-in cream. It comes with a pump dispenser that has a twist lock...Travel-Friendlyyyyy!!

Check out the Brand Claims/Directions to Use/Ingredients List/Price and Quantity in the pics below:

In my experience,it works well on my dry hair. They turned out to be a little more manageable and taming them open wasn't a mammoth task. But having said that,I would also like to mention that this would work better on normal hair because my hair is happier with serums than creams. It could be a matter of personal choice but for very dry hair, serums are easier to spread and last longer.
I love its smell. It has refreshing, clean, mild, perfume like fragrance.
Given the fact that it is an Indian brand,I would have preferred it at a lower cost.

BBlunt Back To Life Dry Shampoo: Price and Review

3.3.16 0 Comments
Dry Shampoos work by absorbing oil from your hair, and making it look and feel freshly washed again. It is not meant to replace your regular shampoo and water hair wash but only to use as an on-the-go product on certain days.
Now this was new for me..I wasn't into dry shampoos earlier!!
BBlunt Back to Life Dry Shampoo was sent to me along with the BBlunt Anti-frizz Cream.

Brand Claims:
Instant freshness is now a spray away. This dry shampoo(no water required) does a smooth job of absorbing excess grease and grime and revamps your hair in seconds.Don't leave home without it.

Directions for Use:
Shake well before use.Hold the can in an upright position, six inches away from the hair and spray evenly, close to the roots. Leave on for 2 minutes.Massage and brush thoroughly.

Alcohol Content:
Ethyl Alcohol (95%v/v)7.65 w/w with 5% Isopropyl Alcohol

Like I said...I'm new to this, hence my views are based on JUST this product sans any comparison to its counterparts from other brands. The Dry Shampoo comes in a spray bottle I used this on my unwashed hair of two days and to be true my dry hair doesn't get greasy easily to see how bouncy they turned out after the usage. Volume has never been an issue with me,taming the frizz has been. Moreover, I don't really advocate the idea of pouring a chemical in the roots and on scalp. Add to that the smell and content of alcohol (isopropyl alcohol is drying for hair)
But the fact still remains, that dry shampoos could be bliss for women on the go specially if  you have an oily scalp. Get this if you have busy mornings and hate to tie your hair!

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protien Hair Cleanser : Review

23.10.12 2 Comments
My love for herbal products and more so,my so far so good experience with Patanjali products lead me to try yet another stuff  from them. When I went to the Patanjali store (ooops I mean Divya chikitsalaya) to buy their awesome murrabbas (u've got to try their gajar murrabba..sweet toothed homo sapiens gonna love it!) I was reminded of my empty bottle of Kesh Kanti Shampoo. On asking for it i was told it was out of stock, there I saw this white & pink bottle and I was like..yes I have read good reviews about it and I bought it!

What It Claims: Useful in dryness and roughness of hair. Prevents hair fall & improves hair shine.

Price/Quantity: INR 95/- / 200ml

Ingredients:

Direction for use: Apply 2-5 ml on wet hair, massage gently for 1 minute and then rinse with water.

Packaging:
Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protien Hair Cleanser comes in a white plastic bottle with a hot pink flip-open cap.The image of few of its ingredients is depicted on the front of the bottle. Both the bottle and cap are quite sturdy and travel friendly. A no-nonsense practical packaging I guess!

My Take:
To begin with..I gave this hair cleanser a try only because I was totally in love with their original Kesh Kanti Hair Cleanser (reviewd here) and I wanted to know if this new addition to the Patanjali family has the potential enough to replace the golden-oldy :). Lets see how it fares:
Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protien Hair Cleanser is a mild shampoo. It is milky-white in colour, what else colour could they have given it after calling it "milk-protein" :P .Anyways..the consistency is a little runny, unlike their original Kesh Kanti. It has a nice floral fragrance..nothing too fancy. The packaging as said earlier is fine for the price. It does make my broom-like hair soft, doesn't rip off the moisture from my hair. The only thing that is bugging me is..though I'm not amazing in Chemistry,I can still read a lot of chemicals in its base material list (in the pic above) and a lot less herbs than those in the original Kesh Kanti Shampoo. And this difference is pretty visible in the usage of the two as well. This one doesn't smell and look herbal :(

My Likes:
1. Its mild!
2. Cleanses hair and scalp well.
3. Pocket-friendly.
4. Sturdy packaging.
5. Doesn't make my hair dry.
6. SLES (sodium lauryl ether sulfate) free.
(It is an inexpensive foaming agent with emulsifying and cleansing properties.Studies have shown that SLES is a skin irritant first and foremost and has a host of other harmful effects on the body)
7. Easy to wash off.

 My Dislikes:
1. Isn't purely herbal (infact less herbal than the original one)
2. I liked the fragrance of the original one better.
3. Did nothing to my hairfall problem:(

Last Word: This is one Patanjali product that I'm not head over heals in love with. Its just an okayish mild shampoo that cleanses hair n scalp well!

Repurchase: No,I would go back to my love..The Original Kesh Kanti Hair Cleanser

Overall Rating: 3.8/5

*P.S. Do lemme know if you know anything good or bad in its ingredients list and if you have used it.. I'm all eyes and ears!

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Cleanser : Review

30.5.12 25 Comments
Remember that old long haired princess fairy tale, where the Prince used to say :
Rapunzle Rapunzle  ,let down your hair,
So that I may climb The Golden Stair...

Hearing this Rapunzle used to let her hair down from the window and help the Prince climb up to him..Well that being the fairy tale......
In my case,My Prince would not have been able to climb a single stair holding onto my hair lol ...thanks to the multitude problems of hairfall,dry-dull-damaged hair :(

I have this thing in me that the word Herbal rings a bell somewhere deep inside me.So,a year back when I was introduced to Patanjali products by my sister-in-law,this Kesh Kanti Hair Cleanser/Shampoo was the first thing I grabbed from them and I'm glad I did :)

What It Claims:(Was originally in Hindi..has been translated)
Helpful in preventing hairfall and dryness, makes hair healthy, thick and beautiful.

Quantity: 200ml

Ingredients:

Price: INR 65/- (that's unbelievable!)

Packaging:

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Cleanser comes in a yellow plastic bottle with an orange flip-open cap.The image of few of its ingredients is depicted on the front of the bottle. Both the bottle and cap are quite sturdy and travel friendly.Nothing else to brag about!!!!

My Take: In todays lifestyle,we rely more on the cosmetics that on the herbal/homemade stuff for our personal and care.I know its a sin for skin and hair but lack of time and availablity of markets flooded with products are to be blamed for this change in attitude of our generation.Following the treands i too have done a number of tortures to my hair.To begin with,I was never a born Rapunzel.I always had a thick, unruly, curly mane but the problem arrived when the only positivity, the thickness was getting affected..Yup,suffering a number of experiments like hair colouring, streaking, blow drying, flat ironing, curling using tongs, hair sprays,serums....you name it,I've used it all on me :(
Result-----> hairfall,dry and damaged hair!Period.

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Cleanser was the first product I bought from Patanjali that I started using and I must say it has rescued me well from the aforesaid monsters ;) It has considerably reduced my hairfall.I like its smell..its uuuuhhh mmm orangy,citrusy..all in all refreshing. The consistency is just right for a hair cleanser..neither too thick nor runny. It cleanses the scalp and hair well without leaving residues, thus can be easily rinsed off. The best part is that in case you don't have super dry and unruly hair, you won't even require a conditioner post shampooing..yup it makes hair that smooth and tangle-free and to top it all its herbal :)

My Likes:
1.Super affordable :)
2.Cleanses well.
3.Refreshing Orangy Smell.
4.Has wonderful herbs in its ingredients list.
5.Easy to wash off.
6.Controls hairfall (it did mine atleast!)
7.Makes hair smooth.
8.Unbreakable travel friendly packaging.

My Dislikes: Apart from the boring Patanjali packaging I don't see any con,but given the price I don't mind that one bit.

Last Word: This is one product from Patanjali that provoked me to try even more stuff from them.It does the job well and is super cheap.I love It!

Repurchase: My fourth bottle already and considering its a regularly used product..Yes I will surely repurchase!

Overall Rating: 4.8/5
