Let The Kids Have Fun in Water This Summer!! Kids Time Bubble Bath Review!

20.5.16 3 Comments

Its summer friends...
and summer bring vacation along with them..
Oh No No!! I don't mean vacation to exotic location with us ladies going bonkers over shopping!!
I'm pointing towards the summer holidays that kids spend athome!
My son is seven and daughter isn't even a pre-schooler and my house looks like tsunami-hit these days :P
Out of all the activities through which I try to keep them occupied, the one they love is their bathing time...because it is a prolonnnnnnged one these days!!
The soaps and shower gels have given their way to the Kids Time Bubble Bath in the Mango Tango variant. Its manufactured in US and you can spot these in dollar stores across the country. They come in different variants and this one smells yummy (mango variants are so summer suited)
This is super cheap, you get 828ml for just 250/-
It is paraben-free (though it does have sodium laureth sulphate, but all that bubbling is pretty unimaginable without the SLS content)
It smells amazing and can be used as a top-to-toe wash (yup hair too) and yup it bubbles well!!
Secret Tip: I used it to wash my makeup brushes and they turn out to be squeaky clean and super soft :) :) :)

That's All folks!!
Happy Summer Vacations :D

Recreating Aishwarya's Cannes look Using a 2$ Lime Crime Velvetines Dupe !! Review, Price, FOTD

17.5.16 12 Comments
Hallo Lovelies....
Now that the fashion world is going gaga over the Cannes Red Carpet looks ans Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is receiving compliments (less) and criticism (more)..
I couldn't stay untouched and unaffected!!
This you guys is my first ever attempt at recreating a look so pardon me if you find things a lil' off :P ;)
I found her second day look as the best out of all and thus thought to give it a try!!
For putting up the look together, I hunted my stash high and low. Few lip colours had a similar shade but the matte texture was lacking..
And finally this Lime Crime Dupe in Wicked came to the rescue!!

I don't have an original Lime Crime so I cannot compare it with the real one. BUT guys...this is aaahhhhmmmaaaazing!!
It glides on smoothly, applies super creamyand dries to a matte fininsh. Its pretty similar in texture and pigmentation to the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams or the Miss Claire Matte Lip Creams.
These are highly pigmented and the staying power is awesome..5plus hours easily!
It does mention the ingredients and rest of the details but I cannot vouch for their reliability since they are dupes only.
The shade Wicked is a mix of deep maroon with brown undertones..kinda oxblood...I know that's confusing but that's how it is :D
And this is how it looks on me!!
I got mine from Ali Express but these are available here through Facebook and Instagram sellers at a much much higher (more than double) price.

It was a first attempt..hope you liked it :)

Incolor Matte Me Lip Cream in 405: Review, Price, Swatches, LOTD, FOTD

16.2.16 8 Comments
It won't be an exaggeration to say that the matte lip trend has taken the fashion world by a storm. The social media, specifically Pinterest and Instagram is flooded by it and we,over here, are floored by it!!
In one of my previous posts I reviewed the Incolor Matte Lip Cream in 407 which was a good dupe of Sleek matte lip creams and my inbox was overwhelmed with the where's and the how much's and the how can I's..
Here I am with another shade of the same product!!!

Product Description:
I couldn't find the product or website online.

Ingredients:
Missing!!!

Price vs Quantity:
INR 195/- (at a local store) and INR 320/- (online) ;) :P

Packaging:

Like I said, the packaging is identical to the Sleek matte me lip creams. The container is sharp edged squarish which gives a neat look. The cap is matte black and non flimsy.I'm not too impressed with the wand though, its too straight.A little doe-foot is always more convenient.

Shade:405

Interesting!!!!
The colour is a deeper Radiant Orchid (Pantone colour of the year 2014) Its a bright,cool-toned fuschia purple and surprisingly despite the brightness, its easier to carry (thank the purple, fuschia alone wouldn't have been this BEAUTIFUL) The shade would suit all skin tones..light,medium,dark..equally!!

The shade is pretty close if not dupe of Sleek Fandango Purple. Also it is a close close dupe of Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not liquid lipstick in Wine and Shine.
You can check the swatches here:

Pigmentation:
Its super pigmented and gives a good coverage in the first swipe itself.Infact it is so pigmented that it requires a hell lot of precision while applying coz if you go wrong wiping it off would be a task.

Staying Power:Till you have a cotton dipped in makeup remover in your hands...like literally! It just won't budge.I really like that coz with this formula touch ups are a distant dream, you will have to wipe it all out and reapply otherwise. So I'm happy it stays till the time you would probably want it to.

Texture:
Being this kind of super matte, the formula doesn't feel very comfortable. It gives me a oh-I-have-something-on-my lips kinda feel. Or maybe its just me...

And this is how it looks on me:

 Likes:
  • Super Cheap
  • Dupe of Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream
  • Was searching for a Fandango Purple dupe and this is pretty close.
  • Provides a super matte finish
  • Stays on all day long
  • Suits all skin tones
  • Very pigmented
Dislikes:

  • Ingredients list missing
  • Drying
  • You need to exfoliate well before applying this
  • The applicator isn't that amazing
  • Accentuates fine lines
  • Feathers on application,needs outlining.
Over All Rating: 3.5/5

Despite the cons,I highly recommend this if you are a matte lips lover and want to try fuschia purple shade!

Is this 3$ blush a dupe of Nars Orgasm? Wet N Wild Pearlescent Pink: Review and Swatches

27.6.15 9 Comments
If you ask me which makeup videos I'm addicted to on the YouTube,Dupes of High end products comes in the top 5 list for sure. While going through one such series I was enlightened that Wet n Wild Pearlescent Pink qualifies the category too. And that made me give this brand new baby from my Luxola haul a second glance.
No look is complete without that rosy glow on the cheeks (well I personally prefer peachy glow.. Kinda goes well with my complexion) A blush adds a youthful splash of colour to your face..IF applied correctly...And the blush in question today is Wet N Wild Pearlescent Pink!
Brand Claims:
Price Vs. Quantity:$2.99/4gms

Wet n Wild is a US brand known for its super pigmented n good quality products. I seriously wish Indian market offered us some good quality products which didn't burn a big hole in our handbags..Sighhhhh!!!

Pearlescent Pink comes in a regular plastic packaging with details at the back. The brush that comes along is crappy and that's nothing new! What's good is that it click locks,is light weight and sleek!I cant complain about the cheap packaging of a power packed $3 blush!

The Shade:
The shades available in this range are:
  • Pearlescent Pink
  • Heather Silk
  • Mellow Wine
  • Berry Shimmer
Pearlescent Pink is a beautiful peachy pinky corally blush. But somehow it appears more peachy in the pan than on my skin.  On my NC37 skin,it comes off more pink toned. Its fresh, its bouncy and its youthful.
It has very finely milled gold shimmers that even being miniscule are pretty visible on the cheeks (Mind you they are shimmers not glitters). The shimmers make it more of a night time blush for me though they are super fine and would make you look all radiant and glowy even during the day. It is often claimed to be one of the Nars Orgasm dupe besides Sleek Rose Gold and Milani Luminoso among others. The swatches available online however show Pearlescent pink to be a little more pinkier than the Orgasm to me. Its more coral while Orgasm is more peachy! Still a dupe!
The blush has a very smooth texture, blends easily and is super duper pigmented..So ladies if you don't have a habit of blowing the brush after dipping in the pan...PLZ make a habit coz this power packed beauty has an immense capability of getting you a clown face if not applied carefully!

Wrap-Up:
  • Beautiful Peachy Pink Blush
  • Super Affordable
  • Fine texture
  • Highly pigmented
  • Fine beautiful gold shimmers
  • Long staying power
  • Claimed to be a Nars Orgasm Dupe.
  • Shimmers double up as a highlighter too
  • Blends like a dream
  • Non-indigenous :(

Maybelline Color Show Nail Paint in Keep Up The Flame 215:Price,Review,Swatches and NOTD

22.6.15 2 Comments
The power of Red..!!!
Image 1
Yeah Right..!! Love it Hate it,you surely cant ignore it!! I just said it to make an impact, though deep inside I still wonder who hates Red ;)

For years I was under the impression that wearing Red needs HUUUUUGEEEEE guts and I kept shying away.. Yeah I loved my makeup but was more into nudes. It was only later that I gotta know that it was a vicious cycle and it wasn't just that you need confidence to carry red...Red actually emits confidence..!!
Love it now..on the walls...in the wardrobe...on the lips...and NOW on the Nails too!
Maybelline color show Nail paint in Keep Up The Flame is a very my kinda red...JUST Red that is..!!

Company Claims and Price:

My Take:
A fun background for a fun colour..Color show paints have been a huge hit with the beauty enthusiasts and they do deserve every bit of the adulation. The consistency of the polish is just right..pigmentation is good too, though I needed three coats to be satisfied with.
Note:The pic above has me wearing it on the third day and I did apply a top coat over the polish!

Keep Up The Flame is a true red..not coral..not maroon..neither cool nor warm..jusssstt Red!! Love it..and that sums it up!
Staying power is good like its most of the other counterparts. You can see it looks pretty fresh on the third day and seems to last a good two days more sans chipping.
It would be crime to ask for more than this at the given price..!!

My Top 10 Most Used Makeup Products Of 2014

11.2.15 6 Comments
I know.. I know.. Technically this should have been a December last week or January first week post, but don't forget I'm a mom of a super-desperate-to-walk baby.. So yeah! On my toes!!

I wanted to do a 5 most used beauty products post, but the rest five gave me a cold stare sitting in the stash..rather jumping out of the stash! So presenting the 10 most used (read loved) beauty products of 2014:
(In no particular order)

1. Patanjali Aloevera gel
Multipurpose is it's middle name. Works well as a primer, acne soother, face pack base, depigmentation gel, night treatment, hair pack base. On and on and on....

2. Maybelline dream mouse liquid foundation in creamy natural
Love it. Easy to apply, easy to blend, gives airbrush kinda finish if applied with a stippling brush. No cakeyness no dry patches. C'mon it's just a foundation not your husband, you can't expect more!!!
My go to contour powder. Without you I look like a pumpkin ;)

4. Oriflame giordani gold mascara
The perfect mascara to give those falsies kinda effect. Best I've evaaa come across!

5. Colorbar Peachy Rose Blush
Almost hitting pan. It's peachy pink with a nice sheen. Not matte not shimmery. Apt for every day wear!

6. Faces long wear eyeliner pencils in navy blue and forest green
Epic!!! I'm sold to these!
Pretty peachy nude.. Wear it during the day or pair it up with smoky eyes at night for that sizzling effect!
Efforts of creative eye looks would have gone down the drain if not for this baby!
All those creative eye looks would have gone wasted without this baby..

9. Maybelline Chai latte quad
Total love! Gimme any dress, any occasion, day or night and I can make this work.
Useful tip- The darkest shade in the quad doubles up wonderfully as a brow powder!

10. Makeup brushes
Well, technically these are not products but the rest of the products would be nothing in the absence of makeup tools.
Stippling brush, angled blush/contouring brush, angled eye-shadow brush and eye brow groomer...you guys are my oxygen!

That's it for today beauties....

Shubh Navratri feat.a FOTD

25.9.14 23 Comments
Shubh Navratri to all you lovelies..
Its again that time of the year which is highly awaited..the time that brings out all our rich tastes regarding clothes, jewelry, accessories and off course makeup. The weather as it is seems to be changing, the mornings and nights are pleasant now. I personally see Navratri/Durga Puja is the harbinger of festivities..one following another, one after the other.

I didn't want to miss this occasion to doll up and look a little bong (yes..I love taant sarees,kohl-rimmed eyes and that red pout so much)
So here's what I attempted for this durga puja :

Leaving you with the pictures, hope you all like them:

The products used to achieve the look are in the pic below:
I had great fun doing the look and I guess this is the only occasion where I can gather the courage to pair heavily done up eyes with bright red lips (I generally prefer going softer on atleast one asset).
Anyways, enjoy the festival..deck up..doll up and make the most of it!

My bestest MLBB,My favourite N*de Lippy: Faces Go Chic in Hazelnut: Review and Swatches

12.3.14 39 Comments
My eternal search for THAT perfect mlbb shade ended here. Where do I begin from..I can almost write an epic on this particular shade Hazelnut from the range Faces Go-Chic....

Brand Info: (from an online website)
‘FACES’ was founded in ‘Toronto, Canada’ in ‘1974’. It is a proven business with an established history of nearly 40 years within the international cosmetics market. FACES offers high-quality, extensive and affordable color cosmetics, skin care, anti-aging products and spa services. The diversity and depth of its color range appeals to all skin tones.

Company Claims: (from an online website)
Long stay, extra-shine lip colors.
Super stay, easy to apply Lipstick gives uniform coverage.
Repair your lips against climatic changes.
Get ready for rich, long lasting color in just one swipe.

Price Vs. Quantity: INR 199/- for 4.5gm
*on some websites the price mentioned is INR 249/- as well :(

Packaging:
Faces Go Chic Lipstick comes in a classy round shiny black casing, with a silver ring around which has the brand name on it. Its petite for the quantity of product it has inside. It click locks, won't open inside your makeup bag. The only problem is that round lippies,go on rolling when placed on a flat surface. I'm scared of breaking it,so try to place it vertically.

Shade: Hazelnut
Now here comes the major part..the reason why this baby is a constant repurchase..The shade Hazelnut is a beautiful Peachy Brown and trust me when I say I haven't come across anything that is as perfect an mlbb for me than this. Love Love Love the shade.Very subtle, everyday kinds that neither turns eyes nor makes you look dull.

My Take:
Well..basically I'm not a repurchase person to begin with. I love trying new things because you never know when you come across something better than what you already have. But this lippy is a exception for sure. I have bought another similar shades from other brands only to find a dupe of this with better staying power .... but,I have to end up repurchasing this only.

The texture is buttery soft, glides on easily. The pigmentation is really good considering its a nude shade, two swipes and full on colour. The staying power isn't something very awesome. It stays for 2-3hrs,but then don't forget that's true with any moisturizing nude lipstick.
So no complaints at all!!
and yes...it rocks as in ROCKS with a smokey eye..

My Likes:
  • My perfect n*de lipstick.
  • Smooth and Moisturizing.
  • Goes really well with heavy eye looks.
  • Well pigmented.
  • Good packaging for the price.
  • Very affordable.
  • Click locks.
  • The range has many shades to choose from.
  • Mild Coconut-Caramel fragrance.
My Dislikes:
None I can think of,given the texture, shade and price.

Last Word:
I LOVEEEE it!!!

Repurchase:
Till I get a budget dupe with better staying power.
