Sugar It's A-Pout Time Vivid Lipstick in Six Feet Umber : Review, Price, Swatch and FOTD

10.1.19 4 Comments
Oh yeah!!!
You guys know I'm a sucker for nude lipsticks. Can't have..will never have enough of them. While I like doing bright colourful looks for the blog, in real life I'm a muted makeup look female. I like having it all on my face but in a subtle manner. Earthy eyes..nude lips is my HG go-to look. Another neutral lipstick addition in my booming stash is by Sugar Cosmetics It's A-Pout Time Vivid Lipstick in Six Feet Umber.

Price/Quantity: INR 599/ 3.5g

Ingredients:

Packaging:

Sugar It's A-Pout Time Vivid Lipstick in Six Feet Umber comes in an upmarket cardboard box with details on it. The lipstick bullet itself is housed in a chic matte black square packaging that looks uber smart. I love sturdy- non rolling bullets. The shade name is imprinted on the bullet..another brownie point for that.

Shade - Six Feet Umber
Phewww..I love love love this cool toned greyish brown shade. It's totally a go to shade for office or meetings or for just running errands. It just makes you look so smart without looking
'dying for attention'
It will be a gorgeous nude lipstick for deeper skin tones.

Pigmentation:
Six Feet Umber is a very pigmented shade but still not a one swipe lipstick. I need 2-3 swipes for an even application on my pigmented lips.

Texture:
It's texture is a marriage between true matte and creamy matte. It neither tugs/pulls nor applies like butter. It's beautifully somewhere in between. It sets pretty quickly to a visibly matte finish and is very comfortable throughout the wear time.

Longevity:
On me this lipstick stays for 6 plus hours with occasional snacking. It does transfer a bit but that doesn't diminish it's payoff and finish much. Also reapplying it is really easy unlike the liquid lipsticks. You can apply again on the worn off areas without worrying about the patchiness.

And this is how it looks on me!!

All in all I really love the formula and shade ❤️❤️❤️

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Rome: Price, Review and FOTD

3.10.18 3 Comments
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams have been around in the beauty scene for quite a while now, so talking about these little beauties is no brainer for sure. These are one of the lip products that I reach out for on a daily basis, given their comfortable matte formula, easy application and pocket friendly price.
I have quite a few shades from this range but the one  that steals the limelight today is ROME.

Price:
INR 600/ 8ml

Packaging:
Even though NYX SLMC (Soft Matte Lip Cream) have been around for years, their packaging still continues to be same.

It comes in a very simple lip gloss kind of plastic tube with a soft, fluffy, doe-foot applicator.
The container is colour-coded while the cap is matte black that has the shade sticker on it.

 Shade:
ROME is a medium pink nude with mauve undertones. It looks absolutely pretty for everyday use to college or work. For me, it is rather a MLBB shade. I find Rome to be the closest to my natural lips out of all the lip products I have in my stash.

I particularly like to pair this lip colour with dramatic or bright eyes. It brings out the beauty of eye shades without making your lips looking dull.

Texture:
NYX SLMC have smooth mousse like texture. They apply like butter on lips and dry down matte. The formula is really light weight and comfortable. The best part I feel is that it allows you a lot of time to perfect before it settles to a matte finish.

Pigmentation:
Though the deeper shades I have from this range have better pigmentation than the lighter ones, the lighter shades like Rome are also decently pigmented.

Longevity:
Since the name says "soft matte lip creams" , this creamy gorgeousness wouldn't be the most long lasting liquid lipstick in your stash. It would stand no where in comparison to my Sugar Smudge Me Not Lipstick or for that matter the Incolor Matte Me Ones. But The formula of NYX SLMC is also wayyyyy more comfortable and non-drying comparitively. Also reapplication of these incase they wear off is super easy and clean. You don't need to wipe out the whole lipstick to reapply. you can just go over it again and it wont look crumbly.

Final Word:
NYX SLMC in Rome is my perfect nude lipstick and the one of the most worn too. It has a smooth texture and smells of vanilla. It comes in a huge variety of shades and is an affordable drugstore liquid lipstick.

Sugar Matte As hell Lip Crayon in Voila: Review, Price, Swatch and FOTD

21.12.17 0 Comments

Helloooo Ladies..!!
Haven't been much into the makeup scenes lately although Mauka bhi tha Dastoor bhi (I had opportunity and practice/ritual both)
I was out of town for a week and had taken a few new purchases along oh-so-excitedly. I wanted to try them all in the serenity of my hotel room while enjoying the poolside view and the city outside. But life isn't sweet enough all the time to turn your plans into reality. My younger one had some medical issues and the priorities obviously shifted.
Anyway long story short the planned detailed reviews and pics with elaborate makeup gave way to shorter and sweeter ones in lesser glam avatar :P

Few days back when the world was celebrating (read hauling) Black Friday Sales, your's truly wasn't left behind. today's product was picked up during that blissful period only. we are talking about the Sugar Matte As Hell lip crayon in Voila.
It retails for 799/- but during the Black Friday sale it was on offer at 499/- plus I got 10% off for my first purchase from the Sugar Cosmetics site..amounting it to INR 449/-
Amazing naaa...?

This is a second purchase from the same range of Sugar Cosmetics. Rose Dawson , the first purchase made me like its formula and staying power although being a light shade.
Voila is a beaauuutiful mauvy nude..very my kind!! Its a perfect MLBB shade, though I think it might wash out beauties above NC40 skin tone.

Caution Alert: Swatch before you buy!!

The range and formula isn't new to me. I like how it glides like melted butter on lips and then settles to ultra matte finish...a bit toooo matte though.
Matte enough to accentuate every line on your lips.
Although its a my-lips-but-better shade..its welll-pigmented and  stays on for 5+ hours and survives a meal too....LOVE that <3

Much love to all of you..!!
Start decorating your Christmas Trees if you haven't already..!!

Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon in Cinnamon Brown and Pink Burst: Review, Price, Swatches and LOTD

10.7.17 6 Comments
Lakme Enrich Satin Crayon In Cinnamon Brown and Pink Burst
Its lovely when good brands come up with budget friendly products to cater to a wider array of population. The well known brand Lakme was in the game of chubby sticks and has launched the Lakme Absolute Lip Pout in matte and cream textures long back which I totally love and recommend. They were priced around 650/- Now Lakme has launched the much mini and affordable versions of it in the form of Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons at  almost the price of a lip balm (both are not comparable though since they belong to different range/lines of lakme)

Brand Claims: Embrace the all new formulated lip colour crayon by Lakmé and use your lips like a canvas to create a vibrant look.
Get smooth and matte finish lips with this lip colour crayon by Lakmé that is infused with mineral powders. It has a soft texture and is available in 10 gorgeous shades that suit all Indian skin tones. It also has a rich blend of olive and jojoba oil that simultaneously conditions your lips. For your convenience, the all new Lakmé Enrich Lip Crayon comes with a sharpener.
Application:
Step 1: Open the cap and start applying the product from the centre of your upper lip.
Step 2: Worked from the centre towards the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth.
Step 3: Glide the product across the entire bottom lip.
Step 4: This step is optional but you could use a tissue to blot out the extra product.

Price/Quantity: INR 185/2.2gm

Packaging:
Lakme Enrich Satin Crayon In Cinnamon Brown and Pink Burst
Remove their caps and they actually look like crayons. The colour-coded label all over the crayon is a big help (remember, in my last post how much I cribbed about the similar look of all 9to5 weightless matte mousse?) Their tip is sharper than the usual chubby sticks, thus allows a more precise application on the outline of lips. Being just 2.2g they are definitely handy and promise that for once you'll be able to use up the product before it touches its expiry date (Infact, I actually dream of a day when brands will come out with their sample sizes of mid-high range product line)
They need to be sharpened which is a con but they give a dual sharpener free with the product which is a big Yes!

Shades: Pink Burst and Cinnamon Brown
Lakme Enrich Satin Crayon In Pink Burst and Cinnamon Brown
Pink Burst
Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon in Pink Burst
Pink Burst is a bright fuchsia shade and has fine silver shimmer that isn't easily visible. Its a beautiful shade and perks up the whole look. It somehow makes my face appear very flawless and smooth. I'm gonna rock this one in these monsoons!!

Cinnamon Brown
Lakmje Enrich Lip Crayon in Cinnamon Brown
Cinnamon Brown is a Beautiful cool-toned mauvy brown. I particularly love this shade and this is going to be my go-to shade for the coming few days. On my NC30 skin tone, it comes out as a perrrrfect MLBB shade. Since the shade isn't too deep and warm it might wash out deeper beauties.
Nonetheless,it will be a great lippy for college going girls and for everyday office wear.
( I might finish it up in 2 months)

Texture:
I didn't have high hopes from this Lip crayon given the price bracket it was falling in but surprisingly it ain't bad! It has a slightly thick velvetty texture that is pretty hydrating on the lips. Infact it is a good change from the drying mattes in my stash. It applies smoothly and does not accentuate fine lines. Its not a true matte instead a demi-matte lipstick which only makes it better. It definitely has a particular fragrance to it that I don't like and
that reminds me of my mom's lakme enrich lipsticks
(the maroon case one)

Pigmentation and Staying Power:
Pink Burst is packed with pigments and stayed on me for 6+ hours with meals leaving behind a beautiful pink tint whereas Cinnamon Brown has medium pigmentation and comparatively lower longevity but then it is a lighter shade too!

Over All Thoughts:
I'm happy that Lakme came out with this product that doesn't pinch the pocket and surprisingly fares well too. I can see it being popular with the youngistan and those who like to try new shades without risking much money.

Makeup Revolution Eat Sleep Makeup Repeat Pro Looks Palette : Review, Price, Swatches and EOTD

27.5.17 4 Comments

Halllllllo Bellezas....!!!
This is my second Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette, the first being the New-Trals Vs. Neutrals is an absolute favourite. On a normal day, I'm a neutral eyeshadow kinda person and THIS is definitely the brightest and most colourful palette in my stash. Liking an eyeshadow palette is really a task for me because I want it to be as versatile as possible (Gimme a rainbow for a palette :D) I can seriously never pay big bucks for ten similar looking eyeshadows of apparently similar finishes. If you too like me prefer a palette that has a multitude of shades and finishes..come on board 'coz we've got you covered!

Price: 6 GBP
(Interestingly, each online website be it flipkart, nykaa, jabong etc.is showing a different MRP for this palette although its discounted everywhere, so incase you are interested in owning it take a look around!)

There isn't anything particularly revolutionary about the packaging of the EAT SLEEP MAKEUP REPEAT palette, nor do they need one. Makeup Revolution palettes are neat and practical with a huge mirror. The shade names are printed on a transparent plastic sheet placed above the shadows and not engraved on the palette like the most high end ones and if you loose the label sheet, you loose the names as well..I know Duh! The sponge applicator provided is probably of no use. Since the name suggests (3Looks in 1 Palette), the palette is divided into 3blocks of 5 eyeshadows each (out of which, one is a highlighter) thus 15 eyeshadows.

The palette houses 15 shades in three different categories:
  • Reds/Pinks
  • Green/Yellow
  • Blue/Purple
  • Each category has a highlighter.

Reds/Pinks
  • Rave On- White highlighter, matte, chalky, poor pigmentation!...DUD!!
  • Say It Now- Coral Red with silver shimmers, satin finish, very pigmented.
  • Right Now- Hot Pink(neon), matte, poor pigmentation.
  • Right Here- Purple with magenta undertones, duo-chrome,shimmery,highly pigmented...LOVE!!!
  • Final Track- Rani Pink (cool toned fuschia),slightly duo-chrome,pigmentation is neither great nor bad.
Greens/Yellows
  • Rave Off-  Silver highlighter,shimmery,pigmented.
  • Needle On- Moss Green,foiled kinda finish,pigmented...LOVE!!!
  • Hot Track- Lime Green (neon),matte, very poor pigmentation (had to dig in finger to show the colour)..DUD!!!
  • Re-mix- Deep Forest Green,shimmery,highly pigmented...LOVE!!!
  • Eat Everything- Olive Green/Heena Green, satin finish, pigmented.
Blues/Purples
  • Repeat Again- Metallic Silver,super shimmery,foil finish,highly pigmented,STAR PERFORMER!!
  • Sleep All Day- Cobalt Blue, matte, pigmented.
  • Rave All Night- Denim Blue with minuscule silver shimmers, cool toned, satin finish, well pigmented.
  •  Magician- Deep Mauve, matte, poorly pigmented...DUD!!!
  • Ibiza Heaven- Violet,satin finish,pigmented.
And Here's my attempt to create three different looks with this :)

Overall, the mattes and neons failed badly while rest of the 12 shades are amazing value for money.
This isn't the palette for the weak-hearted for sure and this is
neither the one that I would reach out for often..definitely a neutrals girl!! But this is the palette that every eye makeup enthusiast should stash away for those pop-of-colour moods and versatile looks!!

Dupe That!! Miss Claire Lip Cream No.17: Review, Swatches, Price, LOTD, FOTD

14.5.16 14 Comments

The world is going crazy for matte liquid lip colours and I like to join the madness when things interest me..
The brand Miss Claire has been in the market for quite sometime now but due to its availability issues and the variation in prices, not everybody has had a chance to grab it!
I recently spotted it at a store in the vicinity..and the rest like they say....is history!!!
Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams are said to be exact dupe of Nyx Lip Creams in terms of packaging and formula!
The brand claims that its neither lipstick nor gloss, its lipstick cream that settles to a soft matte finish!

Price: INR 150 - 250/-

Miss Claire Lip Creams like I say are dupes of Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream and this particular shade is pretty close to Nyx London!
It applies like a dream and even after having it on for some time,it doesn't get dry and patchy like Incolor Matte Me lip cream
It stays creamy, infact you dont even feel you are wearing anything on your lips!
Another boon is that it is densely pigmented! You need another swipe only for precision and not for coverage.
Staying power is too good considering its a light shade and it is a lip cream. It stayed for around 5 hours on me!!
The shade No.17 is a muddy brown kinda nude,I do see a lot of yellow in it...a purrrrrfffect MLBB shade to me,and this is how it looks on me!
They are available in some local stores and many Instagram sellers are also retailing these!
All in All...Its a total Love!!

Over All Rating: 5/5

P.S. If you can lay your hands on these, you're lucky... and if you can't..read Madhubani's blog post here regarding their availability!

Maybelline Lip Gradation in Mauve 1: Review, Price, Swatches and FOTD

11.3.16 10 Comments
Now,I'm not someone who unfailingly goes running to the brand counters every time the brand comes up with a new launch..yeaahhh yeeaahhh a lil' less tempted beauty blogger!!!!
But recently I've gone bonkers over nude lip colours and matte texture...like BONKERSSSS!!!
So couldn't really resist the temptation (of the shade and texture NOT the gradation thingy..yeah)
Off late Maybelline has been very generous with new launches and the latest kid on the block is the Maybelline Lip Gradation.

A few details in the pics below:

Price: INR 500/-

Maybelline Lip Gradation comes in a double-ended,twist up crayon like packaging. On one side is the lip colour while the other end has sponge tip. 5stars for being colour-coded. The outer cellophane has the important details...why oh! why,Maybelline don't yaa know we'll throw it away as soon as we get our hands on the product? The actual lip colour bullet/crayon/pencil/dunno..is slim enough to outline lips and thick enough to fill them (thumbs up on that). The cap click locks,so keep it in your bags ladies!!!

The Texture is to die for!!PERIOD!
It is smooth like a dream. It sets to a matte finish. You won't feel once you have something on your lips..
Do I need to say more?

Staying Power is somewhere between 4-5 hours with light meals and it doesn't go off completely..Like even after 7hours,it didn't make me look like a corpse :P Hehe...

Pigmentation is pretty good for a nude shade..My lips are pigmented and it fixed in just a coat...drumroll plz!!

It comes in 8 oh-already-seen kinda shades.. Yeahhh..trust me if you are a lippy enthusiast, you would be having a dupe of all..well almost!! Mauve 1 is a  subtle mauvy brown colour. Very Safe shade as I would call it..It would suit probably all skin tones!

See how it looks in different lights and on me:

All in All I'm loving it as of now,the shade, the texture, the pigmentation and the staying power is all great for the price...what isn't great though is the price for the quantity.
I mean 1.25gm??? Is it a lip liner???

Over All Rating: 4.5/5
