Best Neutral Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks for All Indian Skin tones!! Review , Swaches and FOTD

12.2.19 8 Comments
We all love the concept of a perfect nude lip but a good neutral/nude lipstick is really hard to come by.
Some are too dark to be called natural looking while few are so light that they wash us out and then there are those which match our lips SO PERFECTLY that they make us look as if our lips just don't exist.

Since we all either love colourpop lipsticks or want to try one, I though why not dig through and find out one colourpop for each Indian skintone be it light, medium, deep or deeper.

These retail for $6.5 on the colourpop website. Colourpop offers free international shipping on orders above $50. You can also get these from few online/instagram sellers
(though offcourse at a higher price)

Here are the 4 colourpop liquid lipsticks that I'm gonna talk about:

Let's jump right in to the review:

Dopey
Dopey is from the Ultra Satin range. It doesn't dry out the lips too much like the Ultra Matte ones. It dries down to a satin-matte finish. The shade is a cool-toned pinky-nude. It will suit lighter to light-medium skin tones (NC 30 or below). Deeper skintoned beauties, stay away from this because it will wash you out. It transfers slightly.

Beeper
Beeper is my everyday nude lipstick. It is a medium brown with mauve undertones. It has that stoney-grey kinda tint. It is from the ultra matte range and is completely transfer proof. It is one of the longest staying nude lipstick I have. It lasts me a whole day with meals. You will need an oil based remover to get this off. It will suit light to medium skin tones (NC35 or below).

 Barracuda
Barracuda is from the ultra satin range and doesn't dry matte. Although it transfers a bit, it is a very comfortable formula. It is two shades darker and a bit warmer than Beeper. Baracuda is described as deepened rose on the colourpop website but on me it appears to be a medium brown with slight burgundy undertones.
This is one shade and formula that people of all skin tones can apply blindly.
Love Love Love!

Softii
Softii is a cool toned maroonish brown. It is again a very beautiful shade but it goes a little darker on me. It comes out gorgeous on deeper skin tones. If you are NC44 and above...babe, this is for you!
It is ultra matte and super long lasting.

That was all ladies!
Hope its is helpful and hope you like it.

NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Vintage : Review, Price and FOTD

11.10.18 3 Comments

Yeah Yeah I can see a lot of NYX happening on the blog lately!!
And why not, some of their products are at par with their higher end counterparts while keeping the price line within the drugstore reaches. While NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Rome is the closest MLBB shade I have, this new baby is the one I'm wearing every other day these days.
Beauties we are talking about the NYX Suede Lipstick in Vintage!!

Price / Quantity: INR 850/4ml

NYX Suede Lipstick in Vintage comes in a rather hefty liquid lipstick tube packaging. It is colour-coded and bears the shade name on it..PRINTED and not on a flimsy sticker.. I love that NYX..thumbsup!! The applicator isn't doe-foot, yet because of it's flexibility it aids in precise application. In the pictures here, I haven't used a lip liner and applied directly from the tube applicator.
Vintage is a gorgeous gorgeous medium to deep toned plum brown with mauve/grey undertones. Its an unusual shade and thus difficult to explain. It is one shade that will look amazing on all skin tones specifically the duskier lovelies.
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SHADE!

The texture is creamy...suede is the name..you get it?  It's a very comfortable matte and doesn't dry out lips.

Pigmentation wise it'll disappoint you in the first swipe. Even though it swatches opaque on my hand, somehow it needs 3-4 applications for a smooth, seamless, opaque finish on the lips.
But oh boy! Once done I don't need a touch up for another 5 hours. So not a wee bit of complain there.

Products Used for this look are:
  • Primer- Colorbar
  • Foundation- Loreal True Match  in + Revlon Colorstay in
  • Concealer- Maybelline Conceal and correct in C10
  • Contour- Kat Von D shade and light
  • Highlighter- The Balm Mary Lou Manizer
  • Blush- BH Cosmetics Blushed Neutrals palette
  • Eyebrows- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow pomade
  • Eyeshadow- BH Cosmetics Blushed Neutrals and 120 palette
  • Mascara- Sugar Cosmetics
  • Falsies from ebay
  • Lipstick- Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Vintage

All in All I'm seeing myself wearing a lot of VINTAGE this fall.

Much Love!!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Rome: Price, Review and FOTD

3.10.18 2 Comments
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams have been around in the beauty scene for quite a while now, so talking about these little beauties is no brainer for sure. These are one of the lip products that I reach out for on a daily basis, given their comfortable matte formula, easy application and pocket friendly price.
I have quite a few shades from this range but the one  that steals the limelight today is ROME.

Price:
INR 600/ 8ml

Packaging:
Even though NYX SLMC (Soft Matte Lip Cream) have been around for years, their packaging still continues to be same.

It comes in a very simple lip gloss kind of plastic tube with a soft, fluffy, doe-foot applicator.
The container is colour-coded while the cap is matte black that has the shade sticker on it.

 Shade:
ROME is a medium pink nude with mauve undertones. It looks absolutely pretty for everyday use to college or work. For me, it is rather a MLBB shade. I find Rome to be the closest to my natural lips out of all the lip products I have in my stash.

I particularly like to pair this lip colour with dramatic or bright eyes. It brings out the beauty of eye shades without making your lips looking dull.

Texture:
NYX SLMC have smooth mousse like texture. They apply like butter on lips and dry down matte. The formula is really light weight and comfortable. The best part I feel is that it allows you a lot of time to perfect before it settles to a matte finish.

Pigmentation:
Though the deeper shades I have from this range have better pigmentation than the lighter ones, the lighter shades like Rome are also decently pigmented.

Longevity:
Since the name says "soft matte lip creams" , this creamy gorgeousness wouldn't be the most long lasting liquid lipstick in your stash. It would stand no where in comparison to my Sugar Smudge Me Not Lipstick or for that matter the Incolor Matte Me Ones. But The formula of NYX SLMC is also wayyyyy more comfortable and non-drying comparitively. Also reapplication of these incase they wear off is super easy and clean. You don't need to wipe out the whole lipstick to reapply. you can just go over it again and it wont look crumbly.

Final Word:
NYX SLMC in Rome is my perfect nude lipstick and the one of the most worn too. It has a smooth texture and smells of vanilla. It comes in a huge variety of shades and is an affordable drugstore liquid lipstick.

How To Make Your Own Lip Kit At Dirt Cheap Price!!!

20.9.18 0 Comments
Beauty trends are blinding...and more so, post the Instagram era!!
One thing that saddens me is that too much of information laid on our platter is actually killing our power to innovate and create our own little DIY ways of following the trends with a happy pocket! I mean why on earth do you want someone else to match a liquid lipstick and a lip liner for you? Isn't that what we all have been doing to keep our creamy/bleeding lipsticks in their place all this while?
I wouldn't call this a cheaper version of Kylie Lip Kit or the Huda ones because you do get good quality when you spend on the bigger brands but this is functional and definitely
as-cheap-as-it-gets!!

Things You'll Need!!
  • Liquid Lipstick
  • Matching Lip Liner
AND THEY NEED NOT BE OF THE SAME BRAND..just MATCHING!

Liquid Lipstick: Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams
Price: INR 165/-
I went for the Miss Claire Lip Creams in place of the liquid lipsticks. These are clear dupes of the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams. The texture is a dream on your lips. They are buttery soft, smell like vanilla and stay on for a decent amount of time.
Look at the price..I ask no more!!
I just have one complain from them, although they come in around 60 shades; the shades are pretty much similar with loads of pinks and corals...a few reds and oranges...and just 2-3 nudes and browns!
Having said that, you can opt for any other liquid lipstick since even Indian market has no dearth of it anymore. A few suggestions would be from Lakme, Revlon, Colorbar, Colourpop, Sugar Cosmetics.

Lip Liner: Miss Claire Glimmersticks for Lips
Price: INR 30/-
After having such a wonderful experience with their Lip Creams, I was dying to give their lip liners a try and finding that they only retailed for 30/- I ordered three. Now these aren't really the creamiest lip liners that I have used. They might not fare well if you would try to apply them all over your lip, but as a lip liner they work okay..and don't forget 30/-
Since they are on the drying side, moistening  of the lips using a lip balm is highly recommended.
(I love their lip creams But I'm surely never repurchasing their lip liners)

The lip combos thus are:
Combo-1
Miss Claire Lip Liner in Romantic Pink (L-20) With Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream in 17A

Combo-2
Miss Claire Lip Liner in Pretty Pink (L-15) With Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream in 12

Combo-3
Miss Claire Lip Liner in Nude Wine (L-19) With Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream in 10

The prices mentioned here may vary from seller to seller and consequently the price of the combo may go up or down. I have mentioned the price at which I got the products.
So let your creative juices flow and create your own lip kits !!
Hope you liked the post..stay tuned for more!

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick in Wine And Shine (08): Review, Price, Swatch, Dupe and FOTD

9.2.18 1 Comments
Heyaaaa Bellezas..
How are you all doing?
I know I know..I have been posting much about the brand Sugar lately and I'm not promising this is the last one :D
What to do, I love it when Indian brands come up with good quality makeup and we don't have to sit swooning over foreign cosmetic brands for their quality and variety. Although Sugar products can't be categorized as cheap drugstore makeup as per Indian standards (price wise), the quality they provide justifies the mid-range they are offered at.
Up today is the review of one of their most talked about shade from their Smudge Me Not line..WINE AND SHINE
I would probably be the last one to own this shade but then guys I owned it way before posting this review :P

Price: INR 499/ 4.5ml

Ingredients:
Packaging
Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick in Wine And Shine comes in a peppy-quirky cardboard box that has all the details. How I wish the ingredient list and expiry date were mentioned on the tube itself! Do you save the outer cartons of your makeup products?
Anyway, the product comes in a see through tube and interestingly the product itself is visible in a lipstick bullet shape. The applicator is flexible and allows easy movement along the lips. Small wand size is always good to be precise with your application and this just does that!

Shade: Wine And Shine

The shade is described as Sangria by the brand itself. It the most beautiful deep berry with purple undertones. Its definitely one of the most beautiful liquid lipstick in my stash. I can guarantee that this stunning lipcolour will make heads turn when you wear it. I have been asked about the shade every single time I've worn it. Itadds beauty to your complexion no matter what skin colour you have. Infact, if you want one colour from this range..pick this one up!

Texture,Pigmentation and Longevity
It is really smooth to apply. It's neither too runny nor anything mousse-like. It settles to a super-matte finish. Since it is on the drying side, it is highly recommended to exfoliate and moisturize the lips well to avoid flaky application.
Wine and Sine is superbly pigmented. You get an opaque colour payoff in a single swipe. Although I usually don't use lip liners with all my lipsticks, with this it becomes indispensable because with such good pigmentation you cannot take the risk of going out of your boundaries.
Now who doesn't wish for a longstaying liquid lipstick? Add to that drugstore liquid lipstick! This is just that!! It stayed on me throughout the day with light meals and coffee...Daaayum it's Smudge Proof..to the extent that you cannot wash it off with a regular cleanser. I have to use coconut oil to get rid of this rigid beauty.

FOTD
Here's how Wine and Shine looks on yours truly:

Dupe Alert
My love for fuschia-purple liquid lipstick has brought me to the stage where I have dupes of my own buys in my stash. So,cutting it short,if you want to try this but not shell 500 bucks then you can get Incolor Matte Me 405 at the half price. They are very similar in colour, texture and staying power just that Wine and Shine is a little deeper than Incolor 405.
Check the swatches below:

Incolor 405 is a dupe of Sugar Wine and Shine
Until we meet again..

Lakme 9to5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Colour in COCOA SOFT: Review, Price, Swatches and FOTD

8.7.17 1 Comments
Well it's World Chocolate Day today and what could be a better way to celebrate it than wear a chocolate coloured lipstick and review it too :D
So many times I've come across people dreading brown lipsticks but I have somehow always loved them...from MLBB lipstick shades..to much raved nude lipsticks..to lattes and finally deep chocolate browns..I love'em allllll!!!
Heading over to this beauty called Lakme 9to5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color in Cocoa Soft

Brand Claims:
An explosion of colour to your daily makeup routine, Lakmé 9to5 Mousse Lip and Cheek Color is here.
Description:
Lakmé’s first ever lip color in a mousse texture is super weightless and can be used as a cheek tint too. Available in 10 intense and vibrant shades, they last long and have a powdery matte finish. It’s 2 in 2 formula makes it an instant everyday favourite for the modern Indian woman of today.
Application:
Step 1: Open the cap.
Step 2: Start applying from the centre of your upper lip.
Step 3: Work from the centre towards the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth.
Step 4: Glide across the entire bottom lip.
Step 5: To apply it on your cheeks, gently rub it onto the apples.

Price: INR 575/-

Packaging:

The packaging of this beauty is in line with the Lakme 9to5 range, with that rose gold cap shining bright. Sadly, neither the tube is transparent nor colour-coded. So if you have more than one shade of it and you plan to apply it and rush to your
college/office/any-damn-where--->your life is in trouble since all the shades appear same through the packaging. Long story short-some colour coding would have been wise on their part and convenient to us.
Now coming to the wand part, this is THE BEST WAND I've ever used...ever!! It has a small depression kinda thing in the centre that holds up the product and packs well on lips. The wand is flexible and allows comfortable movement along the lips outline. I personally loved the pointed tip of it which isn't that commonly found in liquid lipsticks but is an absolute must. It allows very precise application.

Shade: Cocoa Soft

The shade Cocoa Soft is a rich chocolate brown shade with a beautiful warm undertone. It will look beautiful on all skintones..fair,medium,deep!!
Now that it is meant to be applied on both lips and cheeks, I did give it a try to see if that actually works. In the images above I'm wearing it as a contour too,but to be honest even though it is blendable, I don't find working with this on cheeks is my kinda thing.
It is buildable and goes from nice warm chocolate to deep vampy dark chocolate brown! Fall fashion would see me flaunting this alot!

Texture:
Lakme 9to5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Color in Cocoa Soft is by far the most comfortable liquid  I've used till date. They've practically said it all about the texture in the product name itself...Weightless Matte Mousse and true that. It has a mousse/lip cream kinda consistency that is thick enough. Even though the formula is rich and creamy, you won't feel you are wearing any lip colour at all.
Its matte yet doesn't accentuate the fine lines..BEAT THAT!!
It has a very caramel'ly scent to it..very eclairs toffee kinds!

Pigmentation:
It is nicely pigmented but you anyway need 2-3 swipes of the product for a nice, even, seamless finish!

Staying Power:
The longevity of the product is impressive. It survived a meal and two coffees over a period of 6 hours!
Ahhhhhmaaazing!!!

Over All Thoughts:
I was a big fan of Lakme 9to5 range be it their Lipliners or Lipsticks and this Lip and Cheek Colour is definitely a lovely addition to the family. Consider me a convert!!

Makeup Revolution Eat Sleep Makeup Repeat Pro Looks Palette : Review, Price, Swatches and EOTD

27.5.17 4 Comments

Halllllllo Bellezas....!!!
This is my second Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette, the first being the New-Trals Vs. Neutrals is an absolute favourite. On a normal day, I'm a neutral eyeshadow kinda person and THIS is definitely the brightest and most colourful palette in my stash. Liking an eyeshadow palette is really a task for me because I want it to be as versatile as possible (Gimme a rainbow for a palette :D) I can seriously never pay big bucks for ten similar looking eyeshadows of apparently similar finishes. If you too like me prefer a palette that has a multitude of shades and finishes..come on board 'coz we've got you covered!

Price: 6 GBP
(Interestingly, each online website be it flipkart, nykaa, jabong etc.is showing a different MRP for this palette although its discounted everywhere, so incase you are interested in owning it take a look around!)

There isn't anything particularly revolutionary about the packaging of the EAT SLEEP MAKEUP REPEAT palette, nor do they need one. Makeup Revolution palettes are neat and practical with a huge mirror. The shade names are printed on a transparent plastic sheet placed above the shadows and not engraved on the palette like the most high end ones and if you loose the label sheet, you loose the names as well..I know Duh! The sponge applicator provided is probably of no use. Since the name suggests (3Looks in 1 Palette), the palette is divided into 3blocks of 5 eyeshadows each (out of which, one is a highlighter) thus 15 eyeshadows.

The palette houses 15 shades in three different categories:
  • Reds/Pinks
  • Green/Yellow
  • Blue/Purple
  • Each category has a highlighter.

Reds/Pinks
  • Rave On- White highlighter, matte, chalky, poor pigmentation!...DUD!!
  • Say It Now- Coral Red with silver shimmers, satin finish, very pigmented.
  • Right Now- Hot Pink(neon), matte, poor pigmentation.
  • Right Here- Purple with magenta undertones, duo-chrome,shimmery,highly pigmented...LOVE!!!
  • Final Track- Rani Pink (cool toned fuschia),slightly duo-chrome,pigmentation is neither great nor bad.
Greens/Yellows
  • Rave Off-  Silver highlighter,shimmery,pigmented.
  • Needle On- Moss Green,foiled kinda finish,pigmented...LOVE!!!
  • Hot Track- Lime Green (neon),matte, very poor pigmentation (had to dig in finger to show the colour)..DUD!!!
  • Re-mix- Deep Forest Green,shimmery,highly pigmented...LOVE!!!
  • Eat Everything- Olive Green/Heena Green, satin finish, pigmented.
Blues/Purples
  • Repeat Again- Metallic Silver,super shimmery,foil finish,highly pigmented,STAR PERFORMER!!
  • Sleep All Day- Cobalt Blue, matte, pigmented.
  • Rave All Night- Denim Blue with minuscule silver shimmers, cool toned, satin finish, well pigmented.
  •  Magician- Deep Mauve, matte, poorly pigmented...DUD!!!
  • Ibiza Heaven- Violet,satin finish,pigmented.
And Here's my attempt to create three different looks with this :)

Overall, the mattes and neons failed badly while rest of the 12 shades are amazing value for money.
This isn't the palette for the weak-hearted for sure and this is
neither the one that I would reach out for often..definitely a neutrals girl!! But this is the palette that every eye makeup enthusiast should stash away for those pop-of-colour moods and versatile looks!!
Over All Rating: 3.5/5
