Heng Fang Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow: Review, Price, FOTD and where to buy from!

11.5.19 26 Comments
To begin with, I've been wanting to try shimmery liquid eye shadows for the longest time now. Like everyone else, even I was eyeing the gorgeous Stila glitter and glow liquid eyeshadows but then while browsing on Instagram I chanced upon these beauties on some random makeup seller's page. The swatches were so endearing that I couldn't help but look for it. I checked on Amazon and it was being sold for 720/- a piece. Then I checked it on Ali Express and it was being sold for 125/- bucks mann!!
(is their any other business that has a bigger margin?)
I bought just one shade of it to see it's quality and pigmentation and let's see what I found out.

 Packaging:

The packaging is to die for. It's definitely inspired by Stila. The eyeshadow bottle is square, clean, rosegold and classy. The applicator is designed in such a way that applying it over a cut crease isn't difficult. It has its shade number at the bottom of it. All the details are given on the outer carton in their native language
(made in China offcourse) which was of no use to me unfortunately.

Shade:
Heng Fang Liquid eyeshadows come in a bunch of shades. They don't have names but numbers. The one I have is Shade no. #05. They market it as gold but it's actually a champagne colour as it doesn't have much yellow to it. I totally love the shade. It is very versatility and looks gorgeous as a topper over any colour of eyeshadow.

My Take:

  • Dupe of Sleek Glitter and Glow liquid eyeshadows.
  • Classy Packaging
  • Good pigmentation
  • The shade 05 is very versatile and wearable at the same time.
  • Super affordable
  • Doesn't need an eyeshadow underneath.
  • Non- gritty
  • Avoid rubbing eyelids, it will come off.
  • Wait for it to dry before batting eyelids.
  • All the product details are written in Mandarin, so if you're someone who doesn't want to risk it before personally knowing the ingredient list and other deets...skip it!
  • Comes in many other shades and I am looking forward to trying the rest too.
Those were my two cents on the Heng Fang Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. Hope you guys liked it.

Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation in Buff Beige: Review, Price and FOTD

19.1.19 11 Comments
I remember the time when I had just one foundation and even that used to expire before hitting bottom. Ignorance was bliss and I didn't care much how closely the foundation matched me. All I was concerned about was that the foundation comes in three shades and generally the medium shade matches me fine. So even if that 'more ignorant than me' sales girl at the store tries to shove the lightest shade down my throat, I've to try to resist and buy medium..
Lesser options, easier life!!
Flash forward to 2019..... Tons of stuff sitting in stash and I know exactly what to mix with what to get my desired shade, coverage and finish.. Complicated much but that's what knowledge does.
Having tried liquid, cream, gel and powder foundations, what's left was the cushion foundations. Now before I begin with the review, let me tell you it's a whole gimmick where much little product is offered to you at much higher price in the name of cushion foundations.
Let's get started with the review:
 Price/Quantity: ₹899/15mg

Ingredients:

Packaging:
Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation with SPF 15 comes in a round cute plastic case. Inside the case, sits a sponge filled with foundation and below it in a different compartment there is a puff to apply it. The shade on the case packaging denotes the actual foundation shade. The case click locks firmly and is superb for traveling with.

Shade: Buff Beige 119A

Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation was launched in 4 different shades in India. For reference, I'm NC30 in MAC and the shade Buff Beige is a close match to me. It is a medium warm shade with yellow undertones. Now when a product from a drugstore brand is a little on the higher spectrum of price, it is expected to atleast give a better shade range to its customer base. 899 bucks for a total of four shade option isn't justified at all.

Finish/Coverage/Longevity
Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation has a very light weight formula. It applies smoothly and leaves a satin/dewy finish that my dry skin totally loves. Surprisingly it makes the skin look primed even without using a primer.
It gives a medium coverage at first application but it is buildable. In any case,I don't find it to be a full coverage foundation.
I wore this foundation for a good 9 hours to test and I could see the shine on my t-zone within 5 hours of the wear...this given the fact that I have a dry skin. So maybe you can skip it if you have an oily skin or make pressed powder your best friend.

My 2cents:
Firstly, with plethora of options of the foundation formula from cream to liquid to gel and sprays to finally stick and cushion foundations, I feel most comfortable with liquid foundations.
Secondly, I feel a bit cheated for my value of money in this cushion foundation since it offers much little product for the price paid.
Thirdly, I feel the shade range needs a quick revamp and expansion.
Fourthly, although my dry skin really loves the formula and finish of this foundation, I have the habit of mixing different foundations for the desired shade/longevity/finish which isn't really convenient with this product.

I like the fact that it has SPF 15 but again SPF15 isn't enough to stop sunburns, you will still need a sunblock underneath if damage to skin due to sun exposure is your concern.

In the FOTDs above, I've tried to keep everything muted so that the foundation can show up and doesn't get lost in the eye makeup or bright lips.

All in all, it's a foundation that gives medium coverage and dewy glow to the skin and it would work fine for the dry/normal even combination skinned beauties provided you find a GOOD shade match.

Hope the review helps you. Lemme know your thoughts if you've given it a try already!!

Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon in Cinnamon Brown and Pink Burst: Review, Price, Swatches and LOTD

10.7.17 6 Comments
Lakme Enrich Satin Crayon In Cinnamon Brown and Pink Burst
Its lovely when good brands come up with budget friendly products to cater to a wider array of population. The well known brand Lakme was in the game of chubby sticks and has launched the Lakme Absolute Lip Pout in matte and cream textures long back which I totally love and recommend. They were priced around 650/- Now Lakme has launched the much mini and affordable versions of it in the form of Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons at  almost the price of a lip balm (both are not comparable though since they belong to different range/lines of lakme)

Brand Claims: Embrace the all new formulated lip colour crayon by Lakmé and use your lips like a canvas to create a vibrant look.
Get smooth and matte finish lips with this lip colour crayon by Lakmé that is infused with mineral powders. It has a soft texture and is available in 10 gorgeous shades that suit all Indian skin tones. It also has a rich blend of olive and jojoba oil that simultaneously conditions your lips. For your convenience, the all new Lakmé Enrich Lip Crayon comes with a sharpener.
Application:
Step 1: Open the cap and start applying the product from the centre of your upper lip.
Step 2: Worked from the centre towards the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth.
Step 3: Glide the product across the entire bottom lip.
Step 4: This step is optional but you could use a tissue to blot out the extra product.

Price/Quantity: INR 185/2.2gm

Packaging:
Lakme Enrich Satin Crayon In Cinnamon Brown and Pink Burst
Remove their caps and they actually look like crayons. The colour-coded label all over the crayon is a big help (remember, in my last post how much I cribbed about the similar look of all 9to5 weightless matte mousse?) Their tip is sharper than the usual chubby sticks, thus allows a more precise application on the outline of lips. Being just 2.2g they are definitely handy and promise that for once you'll be able to use up the product before it touches its expiry date (Infact, I actually dream of a day when brands will come out with their sample sizes of mid-high range product line)
They need to be sharpened which is a con but they give a dual sharpener free with the product which is a big Yes!

Shades: Pink Burst and Cinnamon Brown
Lakme Enrich Satin Crayon In Pink Burst and Cinnamon Brown
Pink Burst
Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon in Pink Burst
Pink Burst is a bright fuchsia shade and has fine silver shimmer that isn't easily visible. Its a beautiful shade and perks up the whole look. It somehow makes my face appear very flawless and smooth. I'm gonna rock this one in these monsoons!!

Cinnamon Brown
Lakmje Enrich Lip Crayon in Cinnamon Brown
Cinnamon Brown is a Beautiful cool-toned mauvy brown. I particularly love this shade and this is going to be my go-to shade for the coming few days. On my NC30 skin tone, it comes out as a perrrrfect MLBB shade. Since the shade isn't too deep and warm it might wash out deeper beauties.
Nonetheless,it will be a great lippy for college going girls and for everyday office wear.
( I might finish it up in 2 months)

Texture:
I didn't have high hopes from this Lip crayon given the price bracket it was falling in but surprisingly it ain't bad! It has a slightly thick velvetty texture that is pretty hydrating on the lips. Infact it is a good change from the drying mattes in my stash. It applies smoothly and does not accentuate fine lines. Its not a true matte instead a demi-matte lipstick which only makes it better. It definitely has a particular fragrance to it that I don't like and
that reminds me of my mom's lakme enrich lipsticks
(the maroon case one)

Pigmentation and Staying Power:
Pink Burst is packed with pigments and stayed on me for 6+ hours with meals leaving behind a beautiful pink tint whereas Cinnamon Brown has medium pigmentation and comparatively lower longevity but then it is a lighter shade too!

Over All Thoughts:
I'm happy that Lakme came out with this product that doesn't pinch the pocket and surprisingly fares well too. I can see it being popular with the youngistan and those who like to try new shades without risking much money.

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector with Spf 24: Review,Price and Swatches

9.4.16 9 Comments
Yaa yaa I know..everybody ... I mean everyyyyyyyyyybody has used and reviewed this BB cream,it was just me who was hibernating blissfully.
The reason being...I didn't buy it when it was launched because the moment I thought of another BB Cream, the ones sitting in my stash gave me a cold stare.
Heading straight to my experience regarding the Garnier BB Cream---> here we go!!!

Product Info given on the tube:

Ingredients:

Price/Quantity: INR 199/40gm

My Take:

It comes in a skin coloured, squeezy kinds plastic tube with a white cap. It has a long nozzle that helps controlling the amount you want to squeeze out. All the basic info is on the tube itself. Its Easy to use and good to travel along!
Garnier BB Cream gives a sheer coverage on me,though I have heard people talking about its sheer to medium coverage.  It adds a sheen to the skin and brightens up the face..only when compared to a bare face.
Its good for college goers and even otherwise if you are blessed with a good skin itself. It is pretty hydrating so even if you have a dry skin, you don't really need anything beneath it or you could go all shinny around the town!
I DID EXPECT a bit more coverage given the fact that I have used other BB Creams and the homemade one. Else I might add quarter of a drop of my foundation to it to make it work for me as a BB Cream and not just a moisturizer!
Comes in just one shade :/

BBlunt Back To Life Dry Shampoo: Price and Review

3.3.16 0 Comments
Dry Shampoos work by absorbing oil from your hair, and making it look and feel freshly washed again. It is not meant to replace your regular shampoo and water hair wash but only to use as an on-the-go product on certain days.
Now this was new for me..I wasn't into dry shampoos earlier!!
BBlunt Back to Life Dry Shampoo was sent to me along with the BBlunt Anti-frizz Cream.

Brand Claims:
Instant freshness is now a spray away. This dry shampoo(no water required) does a smooth job of absorbing excess grease and grime and revamps your hair in seconds.Don't leave home without it.

Directions for Use:
Shake well before use.Hold the can in an upright position, six inches away from the hair and spray evenly, close to the roots. Leave on for 2 minutes.Massage and brush thoroughly.

Alcohol Content:
Ethyl Alcohol (95%v/v)7.65 w/w with 5% Isopropyl Alcohol

Like I said...I'm new to this, hence my views are based on JUST this product sans any comparison to its counterparts from other brands. The Dry Shampoo comes in a spray bottle I used this on my unwashed hair of two days and to be true my dry hair doesn't get greasy easily to see how bouncy they turned out after the usage. Volume has never been an issue with me,taming the frizz has been. Moreover, I don't really advocate the idea of pouring a chemical in the roots and on scalp. Add to that the smell and content of alcohol (isopropyl alcohol is drying for hair)
But the fact still remains, that dry shampoos could be bliss for women on the go specially if  you have an oily scalp. Get this if you have busy mornings and hate to tie your hair!

Spotted!! Dupe of Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream at dirt cheap Price: Incolor Matte Me Ultra Smooth Lip Cream: Review,Swatches,Price,LOTD

15.9.15 39 Comments
Matte is the way to go these days and as soon as the trend is catching up,I'm falling for it at the same pace. I have always been a lover of satin/creamy matte lipsticks. They sort of allow you to play up with colours still keeping things subtle.
Anyways.. so it was just another day when I was in a store laying my hands on a few skin care stuff that you saw in the recent haul post, where my retinas landed on something that looked EXACTLY similar to Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams.. Needless to say I jumped on it and got to I know it was Incolor Matte Me Lip Cream. Now how similar you think a dupe can be in terms of packaging? see yourself:

Beat That..??
LOL.. Its like Incolor used the same container altogether :P

Product Description:
I couldn't find the product or website online

Price vs Quantity:
INR 250/6ml

Packaging:

Like I said, the packaging is identical to the sleek matte me lip creams. The container is sharp edged squarish which gives a neat look. the cap is matte black and non flimsy.I'm not too impressed with the wand though, its too straight.A little doe-foot is always more convenient.

Shade: 407
Bummer!that they don't have shade names but numbers. The one I have is in 407 and is a *turn -ur-heads-this-side* kinda orange based red. Its super bright and not for the ones with a faint heart. It instantly brightens up the face and perks up the whole look but you really need to go subtle everywhere else when you have THIS on! Its tailored for the warm Asian skin tone!

Pigmentation:

Its super-duper pigmented. You can see in the image above that there is no difference in the opacity of the single or double swiped swatches. Infact it is so pigmented that it requires a hell lot of precision while applying coz if you go wrong wiping it off would be a task.

Staying Power:
Till you have a cotton dipped in makeup remover in your hands...like literally! It just won't budge. You can have a 5 course meal, three times a day and it-won't-budge and I really like that coz with this formula touch ups are a distant dream, you will have to wipe it all out and reapply otherwise. So I'm happy it stays till the time you would probably want it to.

Texture:
Now this is a bit confusing. I mean, this is my first matte lip cream and I really don't know to be honest if they are all drying or just this one.The formula doesn't feel very comfortable. It gives me a oh-I-have-something-on-my lips kinda feel. Or maybe its just me...

And now the lip Swatches in different lights to give you a better of the shade:

The one in the daylight is true to the colour. I tired to pair it with a clear clear gloss to see how it looks and feels and here are the results:
Even after applying the gloss, the staying power wasn't affected instead the lips definitely became moist..but then what's the point of a matte lip cream if you apply a shiny gloss over it..Point! Eh..?

Likes:
  • Super Cheap
  • Dupe of Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream
  • Fantastic bright Orangy Red shade
  • Provides a super matte finish
  • Stays on all day long
  • Suits warm skin tones
  • Very pigmented
Dislikes:
  • Drying
  • You need to exfoliate well before applying this
  • The applicator isn't that amazing
  • Accentuates fine lines
Give it a go if you wanna follow the matte lip trend..!
I just so wish they had a dupe of Fandango Purple! Sighhh..!

MUA Pro Mosaic Bronzer in Sunkissed: Review,Price,Swatches and FOTD

12.9.15 11 Comments
This was one of the buys from my recent haul and technically my first MUA product. These days I'm undergoing a bronzer phase. Thanks to the ever roundening face,I feel the face looks too flat without them. I personally prefer matte muddy brown bronzers on me, so actually speaking this was an impulse buy!! Lets meet MUA Bronzer in Sunkissed!
Product description:
The Mosaic Bronzer combines four gorgeous shades that when swirled together create the perfect natural bronze shade. Grab a contouring brush (we recommend MUA's F6 Blusher and Contouring Brush) and swirl around the compact so all the colours blend together and then simply apply to the apples of the cheekbones. Use a small amount for a natural look or build up for a more dramatic contoured look.
The reason why there are so many colours in one blush is to build up a better colour palette of pigmentation! All skin tones take different colours more prominently and by using them all in one go, it will adapt to suit your skin tone. This will look totally different on you and your BFF!

Price vs Quantity: INR 625/8.9gm

Ingredients:

Packaging:

MUA Bronzer in Sunkissed comes in a round pan. It is divided beautifully in a pattern comprising of four different shades. Even though the lid is made of transparent plastic, it's not flimsy. It click locks ensuring the safety of the product.

Shade: Sunkissed

Bummer!!! I'm not a big fan of the shade. Since it is a Mosaic Bronzers,it comprises of four shades and out of these, only the brown one is actually a true bronzer, the other three shades are either blushers or highlighter. I have swatched all the four shades separately to give you an idea but the technique is to swirl your brush in the pan and apply. Now maybe it works on the very pale skins but on me it comes less as a bronzer and more as a cool toned dusty mauvy blush with miniscule silver sheen.

Texture:
It feels smooth on the skin but given the fact that it is powdery, it has major fall out issues. With just a swirl of the brush I can see the powdery fall out that couldn't be picked up by the brush and are still collecting along the corners of the pan. This makes it less long lasting. I noticed if applied directly on your makeup base it stays longer than applying after setting powders.

Pigmentation:
Different blocks of shades have different pigmentation. But as a whole it shows up really well. Try not to layer it coz one layer just sits on another making it look chalky.

My Take:
Let's see how it looks on me in different lightings:

MUA Bronzer in Sunkissed doesn't come up as a bronzer on me. Like I said I'm a fan of muddy brown matte bronzers that kinda provide a shadow like effect and this is neither brown not matte. The packaging is nice. It feels buttery on skin and applies smoothly. Has a shimmery pink and a yellowish shade that work as a highlighter. It provides a dewy finish along with the deep mauvy blush kinda look. I might wear it with my berry lipsticks to make it work for me. But with this you shouldn't follow your regular bronzer, blush , highlighter technique coz it has all in one and that's a major plus for the makeup beginners and beauties on the go. Swirl..Apply..Buh-Bie!!

Likes:
1. Packaging is nice
2. Would look beautiful on olive skin tones
3. Is a three in one product (bronzer, blush, highlighter)
4. Is cheap
5. Is available online
6. Applies buttery smooth
7. Gives a dewy finish
8. Great for beginners
9. Suits both day and night makeup looks

Dislikes:
1. Not a perfect shade of bronzer, doesn't look naturally sunkissed
2. Is chalky/powdery
3. Has fallout issues
4. Doesn't get absorbed, just sits on face
5. Isn't buildable, would turn even more chalky
6. Not for the matte lovers
