Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector with Spf 24: Review,Price and Swatches

9.4.16 8 Comments
Yaa yaa I know..everybody ... I mean everyyyyyyyyyybody has used and reviewed this BB cream,it was just me who was hibernating blissfully.
The reason being...I didn't buy it when it was launched because the moment I thought of another BB Cream, the ones sitting in my stash gave me a cold stare.
Heading straight to my experience regarding the Garnier BB Cream---> here we go!!!

Product Info given on the tube:

Ingredients:

Price/Quantity: INR 199/40gm

My Take:

It comes in a skin coloured, squeezy kinds plastic tube with a white cap. It has a long nozzle that helps controlling the amount you want to squeeze out. All the basic info is on the tube itself. Its Easy to use and good to travel along!
Garnier BB Cream gives a sheer coverage on me,though I have heard people talking about its sheer to medium coverage.  It adds a sheen to the skin and brightens up the face..only when compared to a bare face.
Its good for college goers and even otherwise if you are blessed with a good skin itself. It is pretty hydrating so even if you have a dry skin, you don't really need anything beneath it or you could go all shinny around the town!
I DID EXPECT a bit more coverage given the fact that I have used other BB Creams and the homemade one. Else I might add quarter of a drop of my foundation to it to make it work for me as a BB Cream and not just a moisturizer!
Comes in just one shade :/

New Kid on the Block: Inveda BB Cream,8in1 with SPF 20..and why I love it !!!!

24.5.14 10 Comments
The beauty markets today are brimming with the BBs,CCs,DDs.....ZZs!!! Though a DIY lover,I can always make mine and store but digging fingers in that tub doesn't always seem to be the best idea under the sun. Add to that every other brand is coming up with their own version of the oh-so-talked-about BB creams.
The new kid on the block is one by INVEDA...and what makes it different from the run-of-the-mill kinds?

Read on to know:
Company Claims:

Ingredients:
Price/Quantity: INR 140/ 15ml

Packaging:

The goodness starts right from here...
Inveda BB Cream comes in a vibrant mocha-tangerine colour combo. The tube itself looks very Indian. The golden screw cap adds to its beauty. The nozzle is sealed. All in all nothing to rant about.

My Experience:
Inveda BB cream claims to be 8-in-1 and has SPF 20 to our advantage. It comes in two variants: Matt Colour and Fair Colour.
I have the latter and though it looks too light,it comes of perfectly when applied. It provides a finish that is somewhere in between matte and dewy...very natural!!
The texture is just perfect for a BB cream, spreading it evenly is very easy.
The staying power is a good 4hrs on my dry skin when set with a powder.
It provides medium coverage, infact better coverage than most of the other BB creams and sheer coverage foundations. It will suffice for the need of foundation if you don't have any major flaws to hide.
The smell is mild and non-bothersome.
The best part is it did not break my super sensitive skin out, although I did commit the crime of sleeping with this on..So a 5/5 for that!!!
Maybe the absence of parabens worked in my favor, but I do see a lot of other chemicals in its ingredient list.

My Likes:
  • Good coverage for a BB cream.
  • Gives a semi dewy finish, that looks natural.
  • Does not break me out.
  • Mild pleasant smell.
  • Good wear-time.
  • Has Spf20
  • Is paraben free.
  • As good as a foundation.
  • Comes in two variants.
  • Vibrant packaging.
  • Available online (at purple.com)
  • Travel friendly.
My Dislikes:
  • Makes me sweat..but then its 40 degrees here.
  • They should come out with a 30/50ml variant too.
Last Word:
Inveda 8-in-1 BB cream is by far the best BB cream I have used till date.

Repurchase: Sure!

Maybelline Clear Glow BB stick gives a flawless look but why do I look crappy in pics? Review

9.9.13 17 Comments
Years back when I was freshly out of college,a relative brought me this as a gift from abroad. It was in a navy blue and silver packaging..How I wish I could show you that!!!!
It was similar in size and look but was definitely much more creamy than this..I bit too creamy and that was probably because it had a double core like look..a creamy core I guess! If I can recall correctly,it was named as Maybelline foundation stick.
Fast forward to 2013---------------------->we have our own Maybelline Clear Glow BB Stick :)

Expert Tips On How to apply BB Stick
  • Swipe BB Stick on your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin.
  • Blend in an outward direction towards hairline and jawline using quick, short strokes.
  • Finally, you could also apply a little Kajal and Lip Balm for a great natural look.
 Ingredients:

Price/Quantity: INR 250/10gm

Shades:
In India, only two shades are launched as yet:
  • Radiance (01)
  • Fawn (04)
 Packaging:

Well this seems to be the best part of the whole story... the packaging! It comes in a twist-up stick form and looks like a huge Lipstick. I like how compact it looks. You can throw it in your handbag and you are good to go. Its not messy at all and can be applied straight on the face and blend it with fingers. The good thing is that it has the Mfg date on the primary packaging unlike other products which have it on the outer carton (which gets thrown out anyway). Its cute and travel friendly!

My Take:
The much hyped and most talked about product (partly because the PRs were generous enough, specially with the shade fawn) of the year,Maybelline Clear Glow BB Stick has found its way in almost everybody's kitty. Its good to see and easy to carry along. Its not too demanding a product in terms of usage..no brush,no sponge! Just squiggle a few lines on your face and blend it out well. It provides medium coverage..something that you would like on yourself on a daily basis..It evens out the skin tone  pretty well and in case one needs to cover some stubborn spots, one can build it up. I even use it often as a concealer for my undereyes..and it works well :)
The good part over....now the baddies :/
Dry skinned beauties will need some skin hydration before applying it specially in cooler months. Though the Maybelline Clear Glow BB Stick cannot be called dry,I still need something beneath it to make blending easy. Secondly, it doesn't photograph well. All my pics looked ashy when I had this on,I guess the SPF is to be blamed for this con...So girls,if you think someone's gonna set their apertures on you better not go with this on!

My Likes:
1. Brightens face.
2. Evens out the complexion.
3. Hides minor undereyes and pigmentation.
4. Can be built upon for more coverage.
5. Blending isn't a big deal.
6. Cute Packaging.
7. Travel Friendly.
8. Doesn't require brush or sponge.
9. Affordable.
10.Manufacturing date on the bullet sticker and not just on the outer plastic (which gets thrown in any case)
11. Neither too creamy(gooey) nor too hard.
12. Easily available.

My Dislikes:
1. I want something hydrating beneath this for proper blending.
2. It doesn't photograph well, blame the SPF :(
3. The brand proved to be miser with their shade selection..I personally fall somewhere between Radiance and Fawn (FYI,I'm NC 35ish)

Last Word:
Its a wonderful product,Gives medium coverage and can be built upon. Its a boon for college and office goers given its ease of application and storage. Has SPF and is affordable.

Vedic line+ BB Cream SPF 20: Review and Swatches

7.2.13 2 Comments

I know how late I am to even talk about this when the whole country is raving about BB Creams. India seems to be the new target for bb cream manufacturers. From maybelline to this one to the latest addition from Garnier, everyone seems to be talking about bb creams. The one in discussion today is the Vedic line+ BB Cream

Company Claims:

Directions for Use:

Ingredients:
 Price/Quantity:
I got this for INR 225/-

Shade: Vedic line+ BB Cream comes only in one shade.

Packaging: It has a nozzle dispenser, which is very practical in terms of controlling the amount of the product. I just wish I could see how much product is left in the tube though :/

My Take:
Vedic line+ BB Cream SPF 20 is a caramel/beige colored cream. It comes in only one shade and one for all skin types. It suits my complexion and my dry skin pretty well though I doubt it might not be the best option for the dusky and oily skinned beauties. It is hydrating and does not dry me out further. The fragrance is mild (very foundation like). The best part is ..its paraben free and has SPF 20. Coverage wise it has medium coverage and since I do not have any significant pigmentation/marks/under-eyes,I can easily skip concealer while using this. It imparts a dewy glow to the face and stays put for a good time too. Just a pea-size is enough to cover a full face and its non-drying properties are what my dry skin really loves!
 My Likes:
1. Brightens up the face.
2. Non-drying (infact hydrating)
3. Imparts a dewy glow.
4. Stays put for long hours.
5. Doesn't feel heavy.
6. The shade Suits my yellow-undertoned skin
7. Nozzle is able to control the amount.
8. Leak free packaging (travel friendly).
9. Provides medium coverage, enough for minor imperfections.
10. Doesn't leave a white cast.
11. Affordable.
12. Has SPF 20
13. Not tested on Animals.
14. Paraben free.

My Dislikes:
Nothing for me personally but:
1. Only one shade for all (might not be suitable for dusky beauties).
2. One for All skin types (What is hydration to me,might be a con for oily skinned people)

Last Word:
The formula and the shade both suit me pretty well but others may face one of the above two issues!

Repurchase:
Though I love it..I'm yet to try the Garnier BB cream..
