Garnier Skin Naturals Anti-Dark circle Eye Roll-on in Light: Review and Swatch

Everyone has few stuffs in their kitty which could easily contest for "Products I regret buying" Award..and in my case this one would be a sure-shot winner :P
Online shopping isn't always an all-smiles experience..this is one hell of an example of it.
Read on WHY:
Company Claims:
Dark circles not only make you look tired but also darken your eye contour. Garnier introduces Light Anti Dark Circles 2-in-1 Tinted Eye Roll-on, the 1st refreshing roll-on with dual anti dark circles action

Instant covering action: Concentrated in mineral pigments, it covers dark circles in a flash. Giving you soft, natural looking finish for long lasting wear.

Anti dark circle hydrating care: Enriched with caffeine and pure lemon essence, known for its brightening properties, it combines a hydrating formula and the draining effect of a massage to effectively reduce dark circles and reveal a radiant and fresh look.

Available for 2 skin tones

1. Light
2. Medium

Directions To Use:
Apply Garnier Anti Dark Circles Eye Roll-on to the eye contour area in light circular massaging movements. The liquid will be applied automatically via the roller ball. If necessary, use your fingertips to spread evenly.
Recommended usage: Twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.

Proven efficacy:
    • Dark circles are perfectly covered and appear reduced.
    • Eye contour is refreshed and brighter.
Price Vs. Quantity: INR 199/- / 15ml (I got this for INR 179/-)

Ingredients: (From an online shopping website)
Pure Lemon Essence & Vitamin C to clarify & smoothen skin.
Long Dan extract to help slow down skin darkening.
Glycerin to moisturise and comfort the skin.

Packaging:
Garnier Skin Naturals Anti-Dark circle Eye Roll-on definitely scores high in the packaging. It comes in a skin-colour pen-like tube with a metal roller-tip. Though the tip gets messy but nothing comes out to make it non-travel friendly.

Shades Available:
Garnier Skin Naturals Anti-Dark circle Eye Roll-on comes in only two shades:
1. Light ( the one I have)
2. Medium
Here lies the problem...I don't know what went in my head that I bought the shade Light, when people around with a similar NC35 skin tone are finding even Shade Medium, light on them :/
Light is too light on me :(

Texture:
This is another issue..It is kinda liquidy in consistency, even then spreading it evenly isn't a cake-walk. I have to be really swift in setting it and once its set it leaves a whitish powdery effect.. Don't like it :/
Its kind of drying :(

My Take:
It definitely conceals the dark circles but the shade Light is too light on me. Post application too,it isn't creamy. It settles to a powdery finish which looks pretty ashy. Spreading it is a big pain. I have to keep the under eye area well moisturised before using the Garnier Skin Naturals Anti-Dark circle Eye Roll-on which makes spreading evenly possible. Due to its runny consistency, there's no way you can use a concealer brush with this. Fingers have to dab-dab!!
I don't think this product is capable of covering severe dark circles as it is not a full-coverage concealer.

My Likes:
1. Good Packaging
2. Affordable.
3. Gives medium coverage.
4. Just a little amount will work.
5. Good to conceal if you don't have very prominent dark circles.

My Dislikes:
1. Only two shades available and even medium is very light for Indian skin tones.
2. Consistency is too runny.
3. Isn't moisturising at all..infact its quite drying!
4. Leaves behind a powdery/ashy effect.
5. Its not a full-coverage concealer.
6. False claims of hydrating care.
7. Another false claim of reducing dark circles.

Last Word:
I bought this as a medium-coverage-everyday-concealer but have encountered several problems in using it everyday. I need very little amount since it is such a light shade, but blending little amount of it is another issue!

Repurchase:
Definitely no..I prefer my Colorbar Instant cover up stick over this!

Over All Rating: 2.5/5

  6. Yap! That’s true, sometimes home remedies work amazingly, but it take both time and effort..We often searching for the best eye cream for dark circles and puffiness, that are cost effective and works great. I read lots of Review over online about Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller so, it is really a effective solution for dark circle problem, thanks Aditi for elaborate discussion about this product.
