Vedic line+ BB Cream SPF 20: Review and Swatches

7.2.13 2 Comments

I know how late I am to even talk about this when the whole country is raving about BB Creams. India seems to be the new target for bb cream manufacturers. From maybelline to this one to the latest addition from Garnier, everyone seems to be talking about bb creams. The one in discussion today is the Vedic line+ BB Cream

Company Claims:

Directions for Use:

Ingredients:
 Price/Quantity:
I got this for INR 225/-

Shade: Vedic line+ BB Cream comes only in one shade.

Packaging: It has a nozzle dispenser, which is very practical in terms of controlling the amount of the product. I just wish I could see how much product is left in the tube though :/

My Take:
Vedic line+ BB Cream SPF 20 is a caramel/beige colored cream. It comes in only one shade and one for all skin types. It suits my complexion and my dry skin pretty well though I doubt it might not be the best option for the dusky and oily skinned beauties. It is hydrating and does not dry me out further. The fragrance is mild (very foundation like). The best part is ..its paraben free and has SPF 20. Coverage wise it has medium coverage and since I do not have any significant pigmentation/marks/under-eyes,I can easily skip concealer while using this. It imparts a dewy glow to the face and stays put for a good time too. Just a pea-size is enough to cover a full face and its non-drying properties are what my dry skin really loves!
 My Likes:
1. Brightens up the face.
2. Non-drying (infact hydrating)
3. Imparts a dewy glow.
4. Stays put for long hours.
5. Doesn't feel heavy.
6. The shade Suits my yellow-undertoned skin
7. Nozzle is able to control the amount.
8. Leak free packaging (travel friendly).
9. Provides medium coverage, enough for minor imperfections.
10. Doesn't leave a white cast.
11. Affordable.
12. Has SPF 20
13. Not tested on Animals.
14. Paraben free.

My Dislikes:
Nothing for me personally but:
1. Only one shade for all (might not be suitable for dusky beauties).
2. One for All skin types (What is hydration to me,might be a con for oily skinned people)

Last Word:
The formula and the shade both suit me pretty well but others may face one of the above two issues!

Repurchase:
Though I love it..I'm yet to try the Garnier BB cream..

Over All Rating: 4.8/5

Street Wear Color Rich Nail Enamel in Metro Girl 26: Review,Swatches and NOTD

5.2.13 13 Comments
You guys must be noticing my hot-pink love these days!!!
Now that I don't have the courage to wear a hot-pink lipstick and when I gathered the courage the result wasn't that overwhelming on me (see here) and I decided to quench my hot-pink thirst with a hot-pink handbag and now this nail paint .. Metro Girl :)
Though its not a recent buy and has been with me since May last year..I'm wearing it often only now!
Company Claims:
Street Wear Nail Enamel formulated to give that final glimmering touch to your fingertips and toes with top-quality. The long-lasting, chip-resistant polish ensures flawless results with each application and that it stays on...and on!

Price/Quantity: INR 50/- 5ml

Packaging:
Street Wear Color Rich Nail Enamel comes in square glass bottles with a black screw cap.I like their square shape. The shade name is their on the cap sticker. Regular packaging!

The Shade:
The shade Metro Girl is a warm hot-pink shade. Its very bright yet not blue-toned.. I like it a lot :)

My Take:
To begin with,if at all I'm asked what would be my best budget buys till date..Street Wear Color Rich Nail Enamels would definitely be among the top three in the list. They are super affordable and last much better than their higher end counterparts (read Chanel). I like their 5ml quantity, you can atleast use up all your stuff before it dries up and once you finish it up...Voila its time for another nail paint shopping ! It stays a good 5days on me without slightest chipping (without a top coat too). They offer a huge array of shades to choose from and this happens to be my second pick only! The shade is a beautiful hot pink..an all season one!
The only issue is with the brush..I just wish it was a bit broader. It requires me to apply several times on a single nail. Still not a big con!!!
My Likes:
1. Very Affordable.
2. Lovely Hot-Pink shade.
3. Good staying power.
4. Okayish packaging for the price.
5. They have shade names and not just shade numbers :)
6. Occupies very little space in my Nail Paint Stash!
7. Has a huge collection of shades..something for everyone!

My Dislikes:
I'm not a big fan of the sleek brush but I won't call it a con for the price and quality it offers!

Last Word:
I love the shade and the formula we get at this price :)

Repurchase: Definitely!

Over All Rating: 4.8/5
P.S. In the swatches above I'm wearing 2 coats of Street wear Color Rich Nail Enamel in Metro Girl.

What's In My Handbag/Purse???

4.2.13 31 Comments
I got introduced to the world of YouTube via this video only...flash forward to many years..and I'm still obsessed with What's In My Bag? blog posts and videos. As per the unsaid rule people are generally tagged to do this post, but I'm doing it out of my sheer love of it. We women love being inquisitive and nosy when it comes to knowing what our other counter part is having in her hand bag/purse..So jet set and welcome to the world inside my Handbag:
Note: I have made things a little tidy inside my handbag,I'm sure candy wrappers, old bills and loose tissues wouldn't have amused you much :P
Over to the contents now:
1.The Handbag:
My handbag wears no designer tags,I got this from a purse shop in delhi only at a very decent price! Now I'm not a handbag loyalist I change them as often as I change my clothes and now that it was winters,I got so board seeing blacks, browns and blues everywhere that I decided to throw in some colour with this coralish hot pink handbag. Here's a pic below :
I personally am not a big fan of small handbags simply because I do have to carry a lot of stuff most of which is common and would be there in all your bags too plus I'm a mom and at times I also have to carry a toy car or too for my boy :P (yes he wants it everywhere..in the car..mall..restaurant..even in the washrooms..he drags them on the basin platform ;)

2. Money Wallet:
Nothing fancy about this, its a regular dark chocolate brown leather wallet which has my cash, coupons, cards, ids and stuff. Though I loved another Hannah Montana wallet of mine very much (You can see it here) but I hate when the cash cannot come in straight in the slots and has to be folded..On those lines..this works perfect)
 3. Phillips MP3 Player and Earphones: I don't remember its model number but this one has an awesome battery backup. If fully charge it once..you can be relaxed for a month with an hour of usage daily. I use the smallest clutcher clip to hold my earphones in place. NAd both these stuffs sit pretty in a leather keychain coin purse :)

4. Makeup Bag: I am not really a *often touch up my makeup person* A comb and a lipstick and I'm good to go. Still I love carrying some powder my nose kinda stuff, that never really comes out. So I keep stuffs in the bag that I don't really require in my stash much. I can do a full review on this sometime soon.

5. Extendable Shopping bag: This one's a must carry stuff for me. Someone got me this from Australia but I've come across similar stuff on Fashion and You. It takes very little space but once open it carries a lot of stuff (very spacious). You never know when you spot your favorite footwears or maybe another handbag and you are scared carrying too many bags will make you loose one...Carry this and you'll be sorted!

6. My Leopard Print Wayfarer Shades: Uhhh..I'm not even a sunglasses loyalist..I like changing them often..and these are the ones I'm wearing these days. Lov'em!!! And this is how they look on me:
Yup that's my son :)

7. Spectacles: My eyes..need them!

8. A Notebook and a Pen: I have an OCD of writing..From a poem in English or Hindi or even Urdu to a to-do-list..to even the grocery list. I write..write ..write!
9. TBS Body Butter in Moringa: I love the smell and texture and I'm dry skinned..Its my hand cream/body lotion/moisturiser (on the go)/baby lotion(for my DS's dry hands, knees, elbows)!!!
You can see its full review here.

10. Garnier Skin Natural Pure Active Pore Unclogging Wash: When I bought this I had no idea as to what I'm gonna do with this..but now I've found a use..its my handwash on the go (remember I'm a Mom,I've to wash hands often :P)
You can see its full review here

11. Water bottle: Any random small size water bottle..Kiddo wants it all the time!
I did not label the items in this pic..for numbers refer the above picture
12. Hand Sanitizer: Its their in all your bags too :)

13. Gems: Angel without wings..I bribed my son and made him learn to talk, walk, toilet train..all because of this.. One good habit=One gems :)

This is all I have in my bag..And now the tagging part! Yes I'm tagging few of my fellow bloggers to share What's In Their Bags?

Winter Skin Care Favorites

2.2.13 7 Comments
Now when winters are about to say buh-bye and the the products which proved to be saviors in the chilly winters are almost hitting bottoms..I guess I should say thanks to all stuff which helped me keeping me clean, moisturised and supple.
Lets take a look :
These are my random face and body care favorites in no particular order:

1. Jolen Whitening Face Wash Gel:
This was a recent invention by the brand and a discovery by me..Though using gel based cleansers isn't the best option for me in winters, but this one..it didn't break me out, cleansed all makeup thoroughly, didn't make me dry and was on a buy one get one offer.

2. Lotus Herbals Apriscrub:
An old friend of mine..I'm not a great fan scrubs with super-miniscule granules..they do nothing to me..This one's neither too abrasive nor too mild..just apt!

3. Himalaya Herbals Fairness Face Pack:
This works well on me..gives me brighter face and instant glow and is creamy too .So yes, this was a good winter friend :)

4. Avon Care Nourishing Cream:
I have been using the fairness cream from the same range as a regular day cream for the past 3months and I was pretty happy with it,so thought might give this one a try and I like the way it keeps my dry skin moisturised for quite a long time. The smell is little over-powering though!

5. Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline Body Lotion:
This one's a perfumed body lotion .I love love love its smell and how light weight it is on skin.

6. Patanjali Aloevera Gel:
There are very few products which have the capability of being an all-weather favorite..and this is the one! Yup it was ther in my summer favorites list too.But back then I had no idea that it will have a role to play in the chilly weather too. I used it often right after bath on my face,it kind of sealed the moisture and it did lighten a slight pigmentation on my right cheek..love it !

7. The Body Shop Body Butter in Strawberry:
The smell,of this body butter (the USP of all TBS body butters) is very yummy and edible..kinda very sugared strawberries like. The colour of the body butter is soft pink,as if natural strawberries have been whipped with the butter..smells yum, feels yummier!!! About to hit bottom shows how much I love it!

8. Homemade Body Oil:
Last but technically the first in usage and liking. This is my dry skin saviour actually. Used everyday post bath. Can't survive without this. Its is 2parts coconut oil,2parts olive oil and 1part almond oil mixed together 9and stored in an old clean and clear face wash bottle)
Absolute necessity!

These accompanied with a sunny afternnoon,a hot cup of cream coffee and a lovely book to read..mmm I'm already day dreaming!!!!
