Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline Lotion pour le Corps Body Lotion: Review

20.9.12 3 Comments
Winters would be here in few months and this reminded me to peep in the stash to check the body lotion have's and make a wishlist for have not's. While going through the stuff, this pretty beauty caught my eyes. I’m pretty sure that you are familiar with the Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline perfume. It’s a very nice perfume with a very light and fresh scent. This is the body lotion from the same range. Lets talk about this love of my life :)

Company Claims:
Omnia crystalline is inspired by the perfection of crystal. It is delicate and gentle like the touch of flower petals. This sparkling Eau de Toilette captures the essence of frosted flowers. The top notes bring aery bamboo and exotic Asian fruit Nashi that has a very original and specific fresh aroma, similar to both apple and pear. The heart is ruled by soft and feminine notes of lotus blossom, while the base brings elegant woodsy notes. The fragrance was created by Alberto Morillas is 2005. Bvlgari introduces Omnia Crystalline, a delicate floral woody experience. Capturing the glowing clarity of crystal light, Crystalline illuminates, reflects and reveals a woman's radiance, luminosity, gentle sensuality, and graceful femininity.  A sparkling jewel of light.
Notes:  Bamboo, Nashi (Japanese Pear), Lotus Flower, Balsa Wood

Price: I got it in a gift set with the Omnia Crystalline EDT for $78 on sale.

Quantity: 75ml/2.5 fl.oz.

Packaging:

The packaging of Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline Lotion pour le Corps Body Lotion is surprisingly simple. It comes in a white hard plastic bottle with a flip-open cap which fits pretty well! But considering I generally don't pamper myself with such luxurious items..I definitely expected some beauty and not just practicality in the packaging!

My Take:
Those who have gone through my posts must be knowing I have a dry skin which becomes combination in summers and superdry in winters..yes complicated but common! Though I have to heavily moisturise my skin in winters,in summers my skin isn't that demanding on moisturisation part as on the cleansing part and this body lotion is just perfect for this season.
Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline Lotion pour le Corps Body Lotion is a perfumed body lotion. Its milky white and is neither thick nor runny in consistency. It has an awesome fragrance. To me it smells floral with a hint of sweetness..ummm yeah its a floral, woody, musky kinda fragrance that's definitely not mild (in case you have used the Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline EDT,its exactly the same). After an hour or two,the floral notes subside leaving behind the woody and musky notes. I generally cannot smell my perfumes on me outdoors, but this body lotion..oh boy! it stays with me in the house,in the elevators,in the car and outside..this is definitely better than even vodafone network, just doesn't leave me :)
It sits close to the skin. I like it very much. And the scent stays on me for a long long time. The lotion itself I’d say is for normal skin. It’s not greasy. It absorbs into my normal skin quickly but oily skinned beauties will love it even more. You apply it and it vanishes leaving behind a supple skin and a beautiful fragrance! I know it sounds gross but this body lotion is so light and oil free that I love using it on my face as a moisturiser ;)

My Likes:
1. Oil-free
2. Light on skin.
3. Get absorbed quickly.
4. Wonderful,classy,feminine fragrance.
5. The fragrance stays all-day-long.
6. Travel friendly packaging.
7. Right consistency.

My Dislikes:
1. I don't know the exact price, still its way to expensive for me in a 75ml packaging.
2. I expected a fancier packaging at this price.

Last Word:
Most wonderful perfumed body lotion I've ever used. I’d say it’s a luxurious product for me, which I use only for special occasions.

Repurchase:
*mushy eyed waiting for someone to gift it to her*

Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel in Rose Amour : Review,Swatches and NOTD

11.9.12 0 Comments
I bought this nailpaint about a year ago, wear it often..so thought might talk about it before hitting the bottom :) I generally am fond of nail paints and I I do like trying different shades from nudes to neons. Lets see if this one stood true to the expectations?
AVON SPEED DRY+ nail enamel in Rose Amour
Company Claims:

  • New improved formula with Flash Dry Technology.
  • Provides full and even coverage and high shine.
  • Stays colour true and resists dulling.
Quantity/Price: 8ml/ INR 165/- (most of the time on offers,I got 2 for 179/-)

Packaging:

Avon Speed Dry+ nail enamels come in square glass bottles with a black screw cap.I like their square shape and more than that I like that the shade names are printed on the bottle itself rather than a cap sticker. All in all good packaging.

Shade: Rose Amour
The shade Rose Amour is a very pretty dusty pink with gold shimmers. This is the first time I'm liking shimmers. They are unbelievably miniscule and subtle. The shade appears duo chrome in bottle, but on application it isn't that obvious, though I so wish it was!

My Take:

Avon Speed Dry+ nail enamels do what they claim to quite an extent. They do dry fast, give opaque coverage in two coats, have shine and resist dulling. More than the product I like the company for saying only what the product would actually do! They don't claim the product to be longlasting or chip resistant for any amount of period unlike most other brands and the staying power isn't that awesome too, stays put on me for 4-5 days!
The shade in particular is very pretty and named correctly...it is a much brighter version of rose gold. The shade goes well with most of my outfits and needs not be changed for looking out of place.

My Likes:
1. Pretty Shade.
2.Very slightly duo-chrome.
3. The fine shimmers keep the shine for long.
4. Packaging is good.
5. Dries quickly.
6. Pocket-friendly when on offer.

My Dislikes:
Nothing major, just the brush applicator and the staying power could have been better!

Last Word: I like the shade and formula and for the price we get this,I don't have much to complain.

Repurchase: Though Rose Amour is a beautiful all season shade and I love it,I still would like to buy some other shade from this range (I get bored super easily)!

* First two images are googled,I claim no ownership!

fabindia lemongrass facial spray: Review

9.9.12 3 Comments
I wanted to get my hands on this lil' spray bottle for long just and just for my love of the smell of lemongrass (yup..me a sucker for lemony smells). Aaaa...ummm..yeah that was the only reason! Read on to find if it satisfied any other purpose than to please my nostrils :)
Website Claims About Fabindia Lemongrass Facial Spray:
Make way for refreshed and rejuvenated skin with Fabindia Lemongrass Facial Spray. Suitable for use by men and women, the Facial Spray cools and provides your skin with instant freshness. The Fabindia Lemongrass Spray is formulated using pure organic ingredients and can be safely used on all skin types.

Some of the natural ingredients in this Fabindia Spray include Lemongrass Essential Oil and Allantoin. Lemongrass Essential Oil provides your skin with a citrusy freshness that is second to none while the Allantoin
soothes and tones your skin. This solution is also enriched with natural Glycerin to provide essential hydration to your skin. The handy bottle is easy enough to be carried with you wherever you go for that on-the-go rejuvenation. So the next time you feel a little sleepy starring at your screen, all you have to do is reach into your bag and mist.  Indulge your skin to some natural refreshment and hydration and keep it looking resplendently glowing with Fabindia Lemongrass Facial Spray.

Variants:
There are two variants of Fabindia facial sprays:
1. Bitter Orange
2. Lemongrass (the one I have)

Quantity/Price:
50ml/INR 150/-

Ingredients:

Fragrance Description:
I'm sure most of us know the smell of lemongrass but for all those who are yet to try it..its like lots of lemon with just a hint of ginger. But its basically a citrus smell!

Directions for Use
  • Keep the Fabindia Spray about 15 cm away from your face.
  • Close your eyes and spray once.
  • Do not rinse off.
Packaging:
Fabindia Lemongrass Spray comes in a cute see-through plastic spray bottle with a cap to cover the spray nozzle. Its small yet sturdy, can be easily slipped into our handbags..and yes there would be no spillage offcourse. Infact,I found the bottle more useful than the product itself!

My Take:
Honestly Speaking,I could not understand the actual use of the product (maybe my confusion reflects as my dislike...umm..dunno). Yes,my initial inclination was about the lemongrass fraggrance but what about its "refreshing and rejuvenating" claims. Well my dabur gulabari face freshner does it better than this one and that too when its 100ml/ INR65/- Anyways..the packaging is practical,I like it or probably thats the only thing I like other than the fragrance offcourse and this reminds me that even the fragrance (my sole reason) does not stay for more than 5-10 minutes (there u go..duh!).
Even though I have dry skin,I cannot use it in summers or monsoons because the glycerine and lemongrass essential oil in the product makes it greasy for me.Oily-skinned beauties...clearly stay away! And just in case it gets in your eyes while spraying (read DIRECTIONS TO USE again!),damn it stings!

My Likes:
1. Customer friendly packaging.
2. Unbreakable,light weight,travel-friendly!
3. Nice fragrance.
4. Not a huge list of chemicals in its ingredients.

My Dislikes:
1. The smell though nice isn't long lasting one bit.
2. Makes my face greasy.
3. Cannot be used as a toner.
4. Pricey for what it does.

Last Word:
Fabindia Lemongrass Facial Spray is not a toner as isn't very refreshing as well. Its greasy on me in summers and monsoons..might finish it up in winters and use the spray bottle for something else!

Overall Rating: 2.5/5

Repurchase: I would rather buy Patanjali or Dabur rose water/freshners!

Pucelle Mist Cologne-Tropical Spirit : Review

8.9.12 3 Comments
Who doesn't like to smell good? Well! In the fragrance department,I'm a little old school because I love love love using itars which are oil based rather than alchohol and thus stay on like forever. But that doesn't mean I shy away from other sources of smelling mmmmm ;)
A few days ago I came across this Pucelle Mist Cologne while surfing online shopping sites. Googled up to check the reviews and found this one,and decided to give it a try! Read on to know if it was a hit or miss!

About Pucelle Mist Cologne:
The brand name Gatsby has come a long way and Pucelle Mist Cologne-Tropical Spirit is a great offering from the company. It is simply amazing, fresh and long lasting. The Pucelle Mist Cologne-Tropical Spirit is a delightful product from Gatsby, with a mystic tropical spirit. It keeps you fresh throughout the day with its lovely, subtle and refreshing fragrance, keeping the body odour away. Pamper yourself with Gatsby Pucelle Mist Cologne after taking bath and start the day with its beautiful delicately fragranced touch.

Variants:
Pucelle Mist Cologne comes in 6 variants:
1. Eccentric Breeze
2. Jolly Rhythm
3. Tropical Spirit (the one I have)
4. Electric Sunrise
5. Sparkling Love
6. Wavy Ocean

Price/Quantity:
75ml/ Rs.65/-
150ml/ Rs.90/-

Fragrance Description:
The Pucelle Mist Cologne-Tropical Spirit is an excellent product which envelops the user with its fresh and floral fragrance. The overall effect of this fragrance is such that you instantly get reminded of tropical flowers which are fresh and full of wonderful fragrances.

How to Use:
Apply this cologne after taking a refreshing bath. Sprinkle it lightly on the body. Avoid bringing it in contact with eyes and sensitive parts of the body. Don’t sprinkle this cologne on the skin having cuts or with rashes.

Warning:
Don’t keep this product near fire as the product is highly flammable. Keep this cologne out of reach of children.

Packaging:
Pucelle Mist Cologne-Tropical Spirit comes in a round plastic bottle with a spray nozzle covered with a green cap. Its a non-fussy,light weight, easy to use bottle and yes Unbreakable. The bottle looks cute and requires very little place in your handbag. The bottles of all the variants are coloured differently to suit their fragrance and names.

My Take:
As I just mentioned,I'm more of a Itar person, the first reason being they are natural. Secondly, they have a humongous variety from floral to fruity to musky to woody...to more than I can think off. Thirdly, they are oil-based..can be worn on body or fabric.Fourthly, you can get them custom-made to suit your liking and lastly and most importantly they just don't get off you till you take a bath or may be wash your clothes if you are wearing on them. I can do a full review on this if you guys are interested!
Jumping back to the product in discussion today, when I saw this on the website  I definitely did not have much expectation from this,I mean look at its price ;) Still I thought of getting it just in order to have something in my handbag that smells good and is unbreakable and maintenance-free. So far it fairs well in those fields!
Now comes the major part..THE SMELL! It smells wonderful. I have a weak hand in describing fragrances (if only it was as easy as describing a lipstick shades with nnnn number of colours and undertones). But still..the top notes remind me of jasmine, middle notes are quite lemony, citrusy (very tropical) and then the base note I find a little woody. I know this is the weirdest description of a fragrance that you have ever heard. For a layman (or laywoman) like me Pucelle Mist Cologne-Tropical Spirit is combo of floral and citrusy smell..very refreshing yet mild! Yes it won't make heads turn in the elevators ;)
Though its pocket-friendly and travel-friendly,it doesn't stay on me for very long, office goers might need another splash post lunch!

My Likes:
1. Lovely feminine and refreshing frangrance.
2. Very pocket-friendly.
3. Travel-friendly.
4. Cute no-nonsence packaging.
5. Has other variants as well.
6. The scent is pleasant to the nose and not overpowering.

My Dislikes:
Doesn't stay on me for more than 3hours..No other con!

Last Word:
Smells great,requires touch-ups,but I won't mind finishing off a bottle soon..its damn cheap guys!

Overall Rating: 4/5

Repurchase: Sure its my go-to fragrance in these monsoons!
