Budget Belleza In A New Look

17.7.12 0 Comments
Hey Guys..
How are u all doin'?
After the soothing monsoon showers we are back to rising temperatures and even more rapidly rising humidity..so much so that I begin to believe they were not monsoon but pre-monsoon showers only :(
Anyways..for the past few days I've been thinking of changing the look of my blog, not that I did not like the earlier look..I just found the background too intimidating for me to concentrate on what's written above it...hehehehe..might sound wierd!
So,this is what I created today!
Hope you guys will like it..All Yays and Nays are welcome in the comment box below :)

As of now..I'm wanting these two things desperately!
And did I tell you I'm expecting guests from inlaws' side ???
No I didn't..Yup that's true and its after quite a long time that we will have another family with us
and I'm like Atithi Kab Aaoge these days..Obviously guests would mean alot of things..better seen than written :)
Yup..you got it write! It means I'll cook more, shop more..more sight seeing and eating out and guess what the kids are actually impatient to travel in our super speedy Metro! :)

P.S. Do tell me whether you like this look of my blog or the previous one..I find this one more subtle and content oriented somehow!

Lotus Herbals PURE RADIANCE Matte Glow Daily Foundation SPF20-Fresh Ivory 350: Review & Swatches

13.7.12 9 Comments
Hello Lovelies..
So monsoons have finally arrived in North India. All this while Iwas cribbing about the hot and humid weather here and here and  now its been just less than a week of enjoying the showers and I want to see sunlight that makes my clothes, towels, bedding crisp dry..I love rains but I hate the sogginess around :(
This reminds me of an Octave from the childhood:
"As a rule
Man is a fool
When its Hot
He wants it Cool
When its Cool
He wants it Hot
Always wanting
What is NOT!"
 From Poetry---------------------------------------------------------------------->to Vanity :)

I would be the last one to talk about Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Daily Matte Foundation SPF 20. No I did not buy it any time recently. It was sitting pretty in my stash, not even sitting,it was busy coming in and out of it. So thought should talk about it ;)

Company Claims:
Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Matte-Glow Daily Foundation is light reflection texture, oil-free, water based foundation. It has a feather light feel and is natural and safe for daily use. Gives a matte look by fully covering the imperfections in the skin. Add to this an SPF 20 for protection from the Sun.
Its light reflection property makes skin look clearer and gives it a shimmery glow. Contains botanical extracts, jojoba, soy lecithin and grape seeds.

Price: INR.175/- (available for less online)

Quantity: 25ml

Shade: Fresh Ivory

Packaging:

The packaging of Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Daily Matte Foundation SPF 20 is good for the price. It has a nozzle dispenser, which is very practical in terms of controlling the amount of the product. Secondly, its sleek..I prefer flat tubes to the round ones.Nice to hold and easy to dump in the bag :)
But there are cons in the packaging as well:
One,I am one curious woman who wants to know how much product is left in her tube/bottle whatever.
Two, look for yourself:

Yes the classy cap of the not-so-classy tube came off :(

Shades Available:

  • Fresh Ivory 350 (the one I have)
  • Soft Beige 360
  • Caramel 370
My Experience:

Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Daily Matte Foundation SPF 20 is a medium to full coverage foundation, considering I don't have any noticeable blemishes or scars it works well for me without using a concealer (as it is I'm not a big fan of full-on heavy coverage..until unless you are the Bride offcourse ;).It has a smooth texture and a very mild floral fragrance. One requires very little quantity of this for the whole face (infact if you go a little generous with this one,it might end up making you look cakey..So less-is-more definitely works here)this is also justifies the little quantity offered by the product. It gives me a fresh dewy finish. Its matte thus it looks natural if used in correct amounts. It stays on me for hours and hours,I might require a casual compact touch up after 2-3 hrs but foundation needs not to be disturbed :) But I do feel a bit difficulty in blending it properly..its just that you cannot afford to be careless with this.

My Likes:
1. The shade Fresh Ivory matches me quite well (if not perfectly)
2. Medium to full coverage.
3. Does not feel very heavy on skin.
4. Smell is mild and pleasant.
5. Little quantity is enough for the whole face.
6. Gives a dewy glow.
7. Very affordable.
8. Never broke me out.
9. Sleek packaging,travel friendly.
10. Has SPF :)

My Dislikes:
1. If only I could see how much product I'm still left with.
2. Consistency a bit too thick (I feel like mixing it with moisturiser or lacto calamine)
3. My cap broke :(
4. Limited shade selection.

Last Word: Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Daily Matte Foundation SPF 20 is a good everyday foundation for a long lasting matte effect. Well-priced and has SPF.

Repurchase: Done with my first tube, already ordered second.

Overall Rating: 3.8/5

Love:

My Shopping Experience from Jabong.com

12.7.12 2 Comments
With the changing times and lifestyles certain habits are bound to change as well. There were times when online shopping was considered scary and deceitful.People were not sure if their investment in a particular product would pay off fruitfully. But its not same anymore. Online shopping sites are  mushrooming like anything and with experience we have also become confident about our purchases from the internet. It saves time,we get our products at much more discounted rates than real time shopping, can be done at our ease in the comfort of our living rooms are only a few advantages of e-shopping.

I too got addicted to this medium of spending the hard earned money almost 3years ago,and have not regreted the experience except its financially draining ;)
I recently got a chance to shop from Jabong.com. Had heard about this site alot in the blogosphere and while browsing here is what I found about the site:

About Jabong.com:-
Jabong.com is a young and vibrant company that aims to provide good quality branded products. Jabong.com caters to the fashion needs of men, women and kids across footwear, apparel, jewellery and accessories.
At Jabong.com we strive to achieve the highest level of “Customer Satisfaction” possible. Our cutting edge E-commerce platform, highly experienced buying team, agile warehouse systems and state of the art customer care centre provides customer with:
  • Broader selection of products
  • Superior buying experience
  • On-time delivery of products
  • Quick resolution of any concerns
What I Liked About Jabong.com is that they have a huge variety of products to cater everybody's needs. You name it they have it and that too along with many other variants of it.Lets take a look at what all Jabong.com has to offer:
The payment options available on Jabong.com are:-
  • Cash On Delivery
  • Credit card
  • Debit card
  • Net Banking
Do go through Jabong's Returns and Cancellation Policy while shopping with them.

My Experience:
These days I can't seem to find one site that does not have a Jabong.com advertisement floating on it. No doubt the company is planning to capture the online shopping market in India.Coming to my experience of shopping with them:

I made an order on 12th June'12,within 10 min.I got an order confirmation email and text message on my phone.I must say I was really impressed. It took them 3days to deliver it to me. Delivery was not very prompt in my case though I have read and heard others getting their orders delivered in 24hrs from Jabong.com.
But then most of the online shopping sites take this much time to deliver their orders!
Well lets see what I ordered from them:

My order came in a neat and sturdy card board box. Apart from the products it had thermocol sheets and pieces to keep the products from flipping around in the box.

The stuff I ordered were:
  • Fab India Lemongrass Facial Spray
  • Vedicline+BB Cream - Blemish Balm Cream
  • Nature's Essence Neem Pack
Instead of a bubble wrap, all the three products were wrapped in cellophane sheet :( which I guess isn't protective enough.

Jabong's Awesomeness :-
  • A HUGE variety of products.
  • Number of brands to choose from.
  • Vibrant and lively website.
  • Has something for everyone.
  • Free shipping, irrespective of the amount of order.
  • They have several payment options -Net Banking,Credit Card,Debit Card and also COD :)
  • They have a 30days return policy too.
  • They have big and small discounts.
  • Awesome communication .
  • Ease of browsing.
  • Great discounts on shoes.
Needs to work Upon:-
  • Bubble wrapping instead of thin cellophane sheet.
All in all it was a nice experience shopping with Jabong.com.I look forward to getting some nice wedges from them :) Have shortlisted a few already :)

P.S. PR provided the voucher but my opinions are honest.

My Happy Pocket Street Shopping:Handbag,Tote,Makeup Bag & Wallet

10.7.12 2 Comments
Hello, Lovelies..
I'm super happy because I get to share my fun new purchases with you! I love the feeling when I shop more for less money and the stuff I bought meets my expectation. But the shopping in question here was just not a planned one.Actually seeing the amount of time I spend with the laptop,my Dear Husband bought me a new computer and a not so lovely computer table.Seeing its a boring common computer table ,I decided to perk it up a little with a decent table cover. This lead me to a Weekly Saturdary Market near my place and interestingly I got a whole lot of other stuff except..the table cover ;)
This is not the entirety of what I bought at the roadside Bazaar, but only the bags that I laid my hands on :)
However, just to show you that I wasn't TOO horrible with my money, I'd like to break down my haul piece by piece! Rest assured..you'll be amused to know their prices :)
All in all,I bought 4bags: A tote bag,a travel makeup bag,a handbag and a money wallet.
Lets jump on their individual pics and descriptions :)

I always wanted a red TOTE BAG where I can dump everything I want without worrying about its capacity to hold my Oh So Imp. stuff..which I am sure seems ultimate futile, rotten and space eating stuff to my DH..hehehe. Believe me when I say the shopkeepers their had hundred different patterns.I neither had the time nor the courage to go through all of those being pushed away by an equally curious but much more loud crowd..I liked this and grabbed it..I was very firmly told it was for 180 bucks and I even more firmly bargained and got it for Rs.100/-

This bag I got from a shop which sold bags, cases, baby bags, handmade baby wardrobes, jewellery cases vanity cases made of cloth and lotsa other stuff.I liked this one instantly (the mustard and choco brown combination was giving me very LV kinda feel;) It has 7pockets,can be used as a makeup bag when travelling or just a casual handbag while going out..and yes I like geometrical patterns.
Price? Any guesses? I got this for Rs.160/- NO Bargain No Discount!

Honestly I picked this one up to gift someone, but now I realize I don't possess an off-white hand bag.No no no..I'll gift it anyway.I like its zip, pretty sturdy and decent looking.Oh yes,the price stated for this one was 400..with my sheer skill got it for Rs.230/-

Now,now,now..this Chotu Hannah Montana wallet is what I love most of all..Mirror morrior on the wall who's the cutest of'em all? The Chotu wallet !!! Though the credit card slits are not sized correctly but what do u want for Rs.50/-..It was so cheap I couldn't dare bargain ;P

Coming to Maths now..100+160+230+50=540 :)
4 bags for Rs.540/-
I still cannot come to terms with this..This was the biggest Happy Pocket Shopping of my life.
Stay tuned for more :)
