fabindia lemongrass facial spray: Review

I wanted to get my hands on this lil' spray bottle for long just and just for my love of the smell of lemongrass (yup..me a sucker for lemony smells). Aaaa...ummm..yeah that was the only reason! Read on to find if it satisfied any other purpose than to please my nostrils :)

Variants:
There are two variants of Fabindia facial sprays:
1. Bitter Orange
2. Lemongrass (the one I have)

Quantity/Price:
50ml/INR 150/-

Ingredients:

Fragrance Description:
I'm sure most of us know the smell of lemongrass but for all those who are yet to try it..its like lots of lemon with just a hint of ginger. But its basically a citrus smell!

Directions for Use
  • Keep the Fabindia Spray about 15 cm away from your face.
  • Close your eyes and spray once.
  • Do not rinse off.
Packaging:
Fabindia Lemongrass Spray comes in a cute see-through plastic spray bottle with a cap to cover the spray nozzle. Its small yet sturdy, can be easily slipped into our handbags..and yes there would be no spillage offcourse. Infact,I found the bottle more useful than the product itself!

My Take:
Honestly Speaking,I could not understand the actual use of the product (maybe my confusion reflects as my dislike...umm..dunno). Yes,my initial inclination was about the lemongrass fraggrance but what about its "refreshing and rejuvenating" claims. Well my dabur gulabari face freshner does it better than this one and that too when its 100ml/ INR65/- Anyways..the packaging is practical,I like it or probably thats the only thing I like other than the fragrance offcourse and this reminds me that even the fragrance (my sole reason) does not stay for more than 5-10 minutes (there u go..duh!).
Even though I have dry skin,I cannot use it in summers or monsoons because the glycerine and lemongrass essential oil in the product makes it greasy for me.Oily-skinned beauties...clearly stay away! And just in case it gets in your eyes while spraying (read DIRECTIONS TO USE again!),damn it stings!

My Likes:
1. Customer friendly packaging.
2. Unbreakable,light weight,travel-friendly!
3. Nice fragrance.
4. Not a huge list of chemicals in its ingredients.

My Dislikes:
1. The smell though nice isn't long lasting one bit.
2. Makes my face greasy.
3. Cannot be used as a toner.
4. Pricey for what it does.

Last Word:
Fabindia Lemongrass Facial Spray is not a toner as isn't very refreshing as well. Its greasy on me in summers and monsoons..might finish it up in winters and use the spray bottle for something else!

Overall Rating: 2.5/5

Repurchase: I would rather buy Patanjali or Dabur rose water/freshners!

  2. I bought this recently... And so far I am liking it.. but i use it sparingly. Not an everyday product. My friend who has dry skin loves it more. But yes the fragrance goes off pretty soon and one can use rose water instead..
